About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Last post of the year

My goodness, 31st of December already.  Where has this year gone?  we are in the midst of terrible weather at the moment.  I can't remember a day now when it didn't rain.  It's a bit depressing to be honest.  Hopefully the New Year will bring better weather.
It is time once more for the challenge at Let's Scrap Blogspot

Here is the sketch you need to use.

Here is my layout based on the sketch

I took these photos on  Easter Sunday this year.  We all painted an egg, and Jackson even painted the egg box.  We had a lovely day, and the sun even shone for us!!

Well, that's it for 2015.  Hopefully 2016 will be a better year for me health wise, but I will just have to wait and see.  New year Resolutions? yes,
1. Lose weight
2. Take part in more challenges
3.  Get my work printed in more magazines
4. Get onto more Design Teams
Thank you for following my blog, and I hope you continue to drop by during 2016.

Ibiza Sunset - Let's Scrap 15.12.15

This is my second post of the day and it is for Let's Scrap

As usual we had a sketch to work from so here it is....

I just did a one page layout, and it shows us on holiday in Ibiza when we watched a beautiful sunset.

We were told that this would be one of the best sunsets in the world and it was stunning.  A speedboat and a water skier went past and they were silhouetted beautifully against the setting sun. Unfortunately, our photo isn't very good, it is very dark, but I have lightened it here below so as you can see us! LOL!!!

We spent a lovely week in Ibiza in September 2006.  I would go back again, as I took lots of photos of the old town, but I lost them all when my computer crashed.  I only have this photo and a couple of others.  So disappointed as I lost so many photos!  Never mind,I have lots more to look at from other holidays!!
Well, now I am going to tidy up my Craft room,.  It is in such a state!!  I'm trying to get a bit more organised, and I have put up another shelf which is great as it holds all my ink pads and they are to hand now instead of being hidden away in a box.
Wish me luck...... I may be some time!! LOL!!!

Sparkle and Glitter Blog Progressive Challenge 15.12.15

Hello from a rainy dreich St. Madoes.  Oh this weather is getting me down!!  Never mind, it just means I can stay in and craft more!  Every cloud.......

Now, it is 15th December, so that means I will be doing 2 posts.
First post is for Rick St Dennis Sparkle and Glitter Blog

We have been celebrating Creepmas, as in my previous post.  We were given a free image which we had to colour, so here he is.

He is a funny wee guy isn't he?  Poor wee man doesn't know if he is coming or going!!  Christmas.... Halloween.... what is it? LOL!!!

I made him stand in front of a Christmas Tree, and added a red bow and a red Poinsettia and he was done.

If you go over to  The Sparkle and Glitter Blog
you can see what the rest of the Design Team have done with this wee image!
Post 1 is done, now I need to do Post 2!   Back soon!!!

Creepmas on Airless Chambers

Hello and welcome.  Weather is terrible here today,
so I am glad I am sitting in my house where it is all nice and cosy!
So, without further ado........ Welcome to the 12 days of Creepmas!
What is that you ask?  It is a bit of a dig at shops
who put Christmas Decorations out when they still have Halloween items
on their shelves.

So, I would like to introduce you to Creepmas Shopper.
She has her carrier bags overflowing with lots of weird and wonderful things!!
I just love the wee box with legs beside her,
look at that wee face! LOL!!

She is a wonderful creation by Rick St Dennis, and you can find her here

on Zibbett .... Creepmas Shopper

If you would like to see more Creepmas designs by Rick, head on over to

Nothing more to do except wish you a Merry Creepmas! lol!!

Let's Scrap DT 1st December 15

Hello and welcome to my little corner of the world.  this little corner is a wee bit snowy.  Jumper on, thick socks on and heating on!!!
It's that time again, showing the first DT layout for the month of December.  My goodness last month of the year.  It has passed in a flash!

Here is the sketch for this challenge

It gave me the chance to use a lot of photos on the one layout.  I have photos of Freya throughout her first year and they are the ones I have used .  It's amazing to see how she has grown.  The brilliant thing about having Grandchildren, is that you appreciate them much more than your own kids, because this time round, you now how quickly they grow up.

I love being able to do girly layouts now, it is a real treat!
I'm away todomore Christmas Cards now.  I have so much stuff to use up and I am determined to make a dent in it!  Wish me luck!! LOL!!
Why don't you head over to the Let's Scrap Blogspot  to see what the other members of the Design Team have done with this sketch?
Bye for now, and stay warm!!

Lets Scrap 11-15-15

Hello again!
It is cold wet and horrible here today.  I miss the sunshine, fed up of all this rain!

My layout brings a smile to my face though

Here is wee Dylan, or Dinky as we called him as he was so small.
He still has a cheeky smile to this day.  Just one of my gorgeous boys!
I added something on the wrong place, and I got very frustrated when I tried to take it off again, and the glue stayed behind groan!!!  Got their eventually, and I like the position of that piece now, albeit it now looks a bit distressed! LOL!!
This is my layout for the Let's Scrap
and here is the sketch which we had to use

Now, why don't you make a layout based on this sketch and upload it to the website?
Go on, you know you want to!!!

Rick St. Dennis Progressive Challenge November

It's the 15th of the month again, and that means two things Rhoda ----  Upload both of your design team projects. Without further ado, here is the first one, for Rick St Dennis Sparkle and Glitter Blogspot

This image shows Santa and his helpers in a bit of a state,
as they are frightened of a wee mouse!!  As if it could hurt them!! LOL!!
This beautiful image can be found right here
Now, I need to go and get more Christmas Cards done.
I'll be back soon!!

Do you trust her, or don't you?
You decide!!

Rick St Dennis Airless Chambers, 31 days of Halloween Day 19

We are celebrating Halloween over 31 days on Airless Chambers Blogspot
and today it is my turn to show you my project.

I have used the lovely, cute digital stamp called  Night Flight
and you can see her below.

I don't think anyone would really be frightened of this little witch,
but appearances can be very deceptive!!
Why don't you go over to the Airless Chambers  and see all the other horrors on there?
Perhaps you shouldn't do it alone though! LOL!!!!

I used the following for this card
Digital Stamp, Night Flight, available on Zibbett here
Background Digital Stamp - Free on the web
Coloured with Polychromo Pencils.

Rick St Dennis Progressive Challenge

Progressive Challenge Time over on Sparkle and Glitter Blog

The challenge is in 2 parts, first one is Anything Goes, and then the Second part is that you have to use an image which you receive from Rick absolutely free!!

Rick has so many amazing images available, you will be spoilt for choice.
He sells on both Zibbett and Etsy

The image shows, of course, the Beautiful Alice in Wonderland.
The background of the stamp is wonderful, with lots of detail for you to colour.   I used Spectrum Noir pencils for this, just getting to grips with them now.  I must confess I have been buying all sorts of pencils recently, must stop, as the drawer they are in is getting pretty full!

Thank you for stopping here, and I really hope you can leave a wee message for me.  It is nice to see who has been here. Bye for now and enjoy your day.

Thursday 15 October 2015

I'm, late, I'm late .......

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date - so goes the song.
Today, I am late for 2 blog entries, both of them due on 15th!!
I have had major computer problems and I couldn't get my photos uploaded in order to upload them to blogs.

So, here is the first post I should have done.
This is the sketch from Let's Scrap Sketches, for 15th October 2015.
When I saw the sketch, I immediately knew which photos would be used!
Every year in Hamilton New Zealand, they have a  Balloon Festival down at the Lake.

Every year, Corinne takes photos and I am always amazed  at the
vast array of balloons on show.
I would love to see this festival, hopefully some day I will!!
The materials I used are as follows:

Papers - Bo Bunny, Cosmo Cricket and Echo Park
Balloon stamps - Clarity Stamps
Lettering - Doodlebug
Borders - Bazzill

Okay, that is the first of my late dates, but I won't get the other one on here until tomorrow, so I'll be back then!  Bye for now and thanks for stopping for a wee look.

Thursday 1 October 2015

Chubba

It's time for another sketch from Let's Scrap!  Here it is.

I really liked this sketch, and did this layout really quickly.
This shows Hadley as a 1 year old.  He was a right wee pudding,
and he had the nickname Chubba.
His twin brother Dylan was a lot smaller and he was called Dinky!!!

I used papers from K & Co - Hopscotch boy
Title used Thickers letters
Animal Stickers are from Sandylion.
This layout was good as it used up little strips of paper.
I keep every little bit you see! You never know when you will need them!

That's all for now, but thank you for coming by.
Please leave a comment, to let me know you were here.

Let's Scrap 9-15-15

It's time for a new sketch at Let's Scrap, and my first on the Design Team again.
I was on the Design Team a couple of years ago, and it is so nice to be back.

Here is the new sketch, and here is the link to the website so as you can enter if you wish.

Here is my layout for this sketch.  It shows Rob and the boys playing crazy golf.
Just look how happy Rob is, as he has had a hole in one!!
Harrison still needs a bit of help from his Daddy, but loved it all the same.

All papers, stickers and lettering is by Echo Park
Wee golf man is by Smirk
Bunting is from a pound shop (hubby bought it for me)
I'm off to work on another layout for a commission.  Why don't you try to do a layout based on this sketch?  I would love to see it over on the blog!

Snow Pals

Time for a challenge card I think!

This is a card using a super cute image from Mo Manning called Snow Pals.
I went a bit overboard with the glitter, but there's nothing wrong
with a bit of sparkle is there?
I used papers from my stash, the trees and the pine branch
were cut using a Spellbinder die. Of course I had
to put some glitter on them too!!!

I am entering this card in the following challenges

Crafting from the Heart  - Challenge #76 Anything Goes
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge  #291 Anything Goes
Creative Craft Cottage  #47 Let's get Spotty
Allsorts Challenge #327 Lots of Layers

That's all for now, lots of things to be getting on with today,
I need to make the most of it when I'm not on babysitting duties!!

Let's Scrap Design Team

Wonderful News!!!
I have been selected to be on the Design Team for Let's Scrap Sketches! Woo-Hoo!
We were given a sketch which we had to interpret in our way, you can see the sketch below.  So happy to be chosen, and my term will run from September2015  until February 2016.
This is the 2nd time I have been on the Design Team, and I can't wait to get started with all the sketches, and to see what everyone makes with them.

This is the sketch we were given, and it can be found here
if you want to play along too.  Sketches are put up
on the 1st and also 15th of every month.

This is the layout I made using just the left side of the sketch.

This shows wee Dylan, being a bit of a grumpy Santa.
I chose the title "Tis the Season to be Jolly" as I thought it was apt!
He had decided he had had enough of dressing up as Santa, and he wanted the suit off!

Materials I used were all from Bo Bunny.

Please play along with us, it would be wonderful to see what you can make!

August Mouse

Oh my goodness, it is the 15th of the month already, and that means it is time
to unveil my Facebook Elite Design Team image for Rick St Dennis

Just look at this wee mousie!!  She has packed her bags,
and she is going somewhere wonderful I am sure!!
I have made this into a Leaving Card, as I think it is perfect for that.

This is such a cute wee image, and she was free,
to anyone who entered last month's challenge on
The Challenge runs in two parts. One month, the theme is "Anything Goes", and,
if you enter that one, you get a free image to play with in the next month's challenge!!
Easy Peasy, and a brilliant way to get more of Rick's wonderful stamps!!
Plus if you win, you will get even more stamps!!

Two Years Old

I have so many photos which I need to sort out and scrap, or put in albums.
I am old fashioned, as I still like to see a had copy of a photograph.
So, here is the recent sketch from Let's Scrap Sketch Blog and it is showing
photographs of my Grandson Jackson.  They were taken on his 2nd Birthday.
Told you I was way behind!  He is 3 now! lol!!

I just used the left hand side of the sketch, as I didn't have enough similar photos.
I have had these papers from Heidi Swapp for a long time now, so I was glad to use them.
I also have a massive stash of brads, so I managed to use 9 of them here!!

It is almost time to pick up Jackson from the Nursery, so I'll go now,
but thank you so uch for stopping here and please come back again!

Wednesday 5 August 2015

Giggle

Here is my latest layout, using photos of Freya when she was about 1 year old.
I love the little dimples in her hands, and the wide open carefree chuckle!
The best sound in the world is a young child laughing.  It is totally infectious.
The sketch is from Lets Scrap Sketches

I used these beautiful rosettes and flowers from Papermania.
They are part of the capsule collection.
They matched the paper from Lost and Found perfectly.
I love when a layout comes together like this, it was no effort at all!

Here is a wee close up of the rosettes, and also the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I added a wee pearl button to the centre of the flowers and also on the larger
rosettes on top of the buttons which were already there.

The "lovely" sentiment is also from Lost & Found.
It's lunchtime, and I have my wee lodger here for a sleepover

Friday 31 July 2015

Archie

My goodness, time is just flashing by at the moment.
It is very true, the older you get, the quicker time goes by.

I'd like to show you a card I have made using an image
 from Rick St. Dennis

This wee chap is called Archie and he can be found here on Zibbet
I made a simple card, but his shirt is as loud as can be!!
He looks very happy in it though, and who can blame him, he is on holiday!!
I'm not quite sure what to use this card for, but it may be good
for a retirement card.  Once I make up my mind I will put a sentiment on it.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges.

Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
Crafty Girlz Challenges - Anything Goes / Summer Holidays
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes

I am now going to start a Scrapbook Layout before Jackson appears for his sleepover.  I don't get much crafting done when he is here as he wants to take all my pens etc.  If I give him his pens and crayons they are not as good as mine!  They learn young don't they? LOL!!
Have a good weekend everyone and thank you so much for stopping here for a wee while. xx

Wednesday 22 July 2015

Princess

I would like to share a layout of my beautiful wee Granddaughter Freya.  I just love being able to do girlie layouts now, and I can see her Scrapbook being far bigger than any other!!

These photographs were taken on the day she was born, when she was still in hospital with her Mummy.  She is gorgeous.  I'm biased of course!  Poor Kim looks exhausted, and Greg isn't much better!
On the tag, it details her date and time of birth -
Freya Maisie Henderson
1st July 2013
12:30pm 7lb 7.5ozs

Materials I used are:-

Cardstock - Bazzill
Papers - Bo Bunny
Felt flowers - Maya Road
Lettering - Sam & Lucy Weave Extras
Lace from stash

The sun is coming out here, so I think I may make the most of it and go out to the garden after lunch.  Jackson will be here, so he can run around for a while.  Have fun whatever you are doing!

Morning Goddess Edie

It's time to reveal our cards for the Progressive Challenge at Rick St. Dennis' Sparkle and Glitter Blog

My card shows Morning Goddess Edie resplendent in her
dressing gown and curlers!!
I used the sentiment "Pamper yourself it's your Birthday"
as I thought this is what she looked like she was doing!
If you head on over to the blog,
you can see what the other DT members have done.

Here is a wee close-up of the embellishments I used.
I am trying to use up my stash, and I am taking out items I
have had for ever and ever, and I am making myself use them!!
The flowers you see here fit into that category.
Don't know where they are from, or how long I have had them,
but at long last I have used them!! Hooray!!!
(or some of them at least, I still have 3 in the packet though,
which didn't match the colour scheme)lol!!

That's all for now, off to do some more colouring.
Thanks for stopping for a wee look.

Thursday 2 July 2015

Card for Freya

Hello and welcome to my blog.  I have a new card to share with you today.
I made this for my wee Granddaughter, Freya, who was 2 years old yesterday.
I am making an attempt at different card folds, to get away from the square ones which I usually do.

Okay, it's still square in places, but it is a bendy square! LOL!!

I used one of my favourite colour combos, pink and brown.

I can't remember the maker of the image above, but it is a really sweet design.  I have put all my rubber stamps into special folders, and no longer have the details.  If you recognise the maker, please let me know?

The two images above are from Lilli of the Valley.
The paper is from Bo Bunny (my favourite)
The pinwheels are from Papermania.
Gems are from stash.
I would like to enter this card in the following challenges

Let's Crop

Hello everyone.  It's a dreary dull day here in Perthshire,  the sun has got lost yet again. He keeps teasing us with 2 gorgeous days, then goes again to heaven only knows where!!

I have made a few cards lately, so I would like to show you this one,
with a free image from Simply B Stamps
We had to use the image, the sentiment and make splatters on the card.  I have done everything as requested!!  I used Cosmic Shimmer and a brush to make the splatters.  The papers are really old, so I am happy to be using up some stash.  I'm afraid I don't have any details for the other items
I have used, they were all nameless in boxes.

I am entering this card into the following challenges

Crafty Girlz Challenges # 3 Anything Goes
Through the Craftroom Door   Anything Goes June 16-20

That's all for now,  more cards need to be made!  Thanks for stopping!!

Mr Tea

This is my card for the Progressive Challenge Part 2
over at the Rick St. Dennis Blog
You can find this funny wee image here  Mr Tea
I spent a lot of time trying to colour the cat to look like fur,
but I think I need more practice!!

This image was very good for me, as I love tea and drink cups
and cups of it throughout the day.
I mounted the image onto green card, and decorated the base
with green  card, and pink paper.
The paper actually has teapots and cups on it,
but you can't really see it.

I fussy cut out cups and cupcakes to finish it off, as tea is always better with a wee cake!!  thanks for having a wee look at my blog, please leave a message so as I know you have been here.  thank you and see you soon!!

Haute Couture

Sorry, I have been Missing in Action lately.  I seem to have so much going on at the moment! It is quite scary.  I have slotted in a bit of time for a bit of blogging and also some colouring hopefully.
This image is called Haute Couture, and is another of Rick St. Dennis' Digital Images.  Isn't she glamorous?  Here is the link on Zibbett if you want to find her.

I decorated the card using very old paper from a Hot of the Press pad.  I added ribbon and gems, and the flowers and silver corners are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  This is actually one of the images I coloured when I was on holiday.  Oh memories!!  I am now going to upload this to the Rick St Dennis page on Facebook.  I have another card to upload tomorrow, when hopefully I will get more time.

Have fun crafting and thanks for stopping for a look.  Please leave a comment to let me know you have paid a visit.

Ballgown in The Parisien Style

Hello bloggers, I m back from my wonderful holiday in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.  I'm all nice and brown and relaxed so I'm a happy bunny!

Here is another card showing an image from Rick St. Dennis

I used Polychromo pencils to colour her and actually did this on holiday.  Sitting on a sunbed, with my box of pencils beside me, and a cool drink within reach. - bliss!!

Here are a couple of close-ups.
The one above shows the detail on the upper part of her body.
I used my favourite colour (blue) to colour her dress
I decided to give her blue eyes too!

This photo shows the flowers I used.  They are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The metal embellishment,  lace, gems and card were from my stash.

Here I am on my sunbed with my two favourite pool attendants Ahmed and Billy.  Seems like a long time go!!  I'll just have to put up with the horrible Scottish weather now.
