About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Card Challenge

This is a card I am entering in the Magnolia Down under Sketch Challenge #93.  First time I have entered a card sketch challenge.  I am also entering the same card in Totally Tilda challenge which is to use Paper Piecing on your card.  I love this Magnolia image, she is so cute.  I stampted her onto My Mind's Eye, Quite Contrary patterned paper then cut out her coat and boots from the paper and stuck them on the original stamped image.  I used flowers from my stash, and a K & Co. Butterfly.  I think she looks really sweet!

Well, I did it!  I surprised myself by how quickly I made this layout!  This is Pencillines Sketch 233 The Photos show the town of Tirau in New Zealand where all the shops are decorated with Corrugated Metal.  Brilliant excuse to use my ribbler tool!  I used Basic Grey Phoebe Paper which I have had for simply ages.  Likewise the tags, bottle tops, paper clips and buttons.  Pleased with this as it has used up some of my evergrowing stash!  Now I need to try to get this weeks Pencillines sketch onto a layout!  Wish me luck!

I have been busy making cards and thought I would share some.  The first one is a  Lilli of the Valley stamp and once again I have used Promarkers.  Some sticky ribbon, flowers, pearls and sparkly buttons complete the card.

This is an old Penny Black stamp, but I simply love it.  The Cat is so cute in his boxer shorts.  The sentiment is a Lilli of the Valley stamp and paper is from stash.
Another Lilli of the Valley stamp which is on a Get Well Card.  I used my Martha Stewart border punch to create the layered effect.
My daughter, Marie and I made some Thank you Cards for her friend who has just had a baby boy.  This was one of the samples which we made to show her.  this shows a really cute Hanglar and StAngler Stamp and we die-cut the cards and the backing paper to give them a lovely shape.  We used a Cuttlebug to make the mount for the wee baby boy picture.

I thought I would attempt to make a "scrapbook" canvas, and I am actually quite pleased with my first attempt!  The photograph shows my daughter Corinne's Parents-in-law.  We all stopped for a bite to eat in a lovely little restaurant and we sat outside in the garden.  It was a lovely sunny day (as it normally is in New Zealand!!) and I managed to get this natural photo of Graham and Christine.  I will get it packaged up and sent over to them as a thank you for all they did for us when we were over on holiday.  I am now going to start a Scrapbook layout so wish me luck!

This layout is for Sketch inspirations #214  It shows Corinne, Rob and the boys in a family photograph.  They all look nice and calm, but I was told it was a nightmare trying to get all 3 boys to sit straight and look at the camera.  I thought I would have to preserve it in case we don't get any more like this! LOL!!! I used Bo Bunny papers, flowers and ribbon from Prima, Chipboard swirls from Twiddley Bitz and Journalling title from K & Co.

This is a layout which I did some time ago.  I am sitting in front of my house with my first "Wee boyfriend"  Kenny.  I don't look very happy about it do I?  He was a lovely Lad too!!!  I used K & Co paper.

I am on a roll!!! I have managed to get a Pencil Lines sketch finished in time! This is sketch #231 and it shows my Son-in-law Rob and my Grandson Harrison. They were like mirror-images and both Corinne and I took a photo, hence the two different angles. This was also on Shelley Beach when we were staying at the Bach. I used My Mind's Eye, Dreamy 2 papers and also Pink Paislee, Vintage Moon papers. The title is from Bo Bunny and the Cloud and Lettering is from Echo Park. The embellishments were from My Mind's Eye and the buttons, which I thought resembled pebbles, were from my stash. Hope you like it!

Here is a layout I have made using the sketch below, which is Sketch #213 from Sketch Inspirations. The photo was taken on Shelley Beach on the Coramandel Peninsula, New Zealand and shows my daughter Corinne watching the sunset. I love the photograph and wanted it to dominate the layout, so made this very, very simple, just using 2 pieces of paper, some Prima pearls and some ribbon. I was asked to make a couple of Anniversary cards, and the one below is for a Golden Wedding. I used a downloaded image from Mo Manning and coloured it with promarkers. Some gold Mirra card, and some prima flowers complete the card. This card, however, is my favourite. This is for a Platinum (70 years) Wedding Anniversary. Once more, I have used an image from Mo Manning. The Paper is from Creative Imaginations and I have also used some Prima Pearls which I simply love at the moment!
