About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Oh so very Hot

Well, here we are in July.  how quickly time is zooming past!   I had planned to do so much this year, and half the year is past and nothing ticked off my list.  So, without further ado, this is the first layout I have made this year!  Shocking isn't it?  I have missed the deadline for the challenge but never mind! lol!!

Here is the sketch I used.

I used stencils and ink to make a background, which was fun.  The photo was taken at Bowentown, Waihi Beach in New Zealand.  This place was the highlight of our big holiday I think.  It was an absolutely beautiful place, and the boys had a ball playing on the beach and in the sea.  Happy memories. In the photo, the boys had been in the sea, and came over to get something to eat.
I love the way they are just looking out to the sea.  Tired but happy.

Here is a wee close up showing the boys.

I placed little plastic domes to place over the ink splatters on the page.

I wish we had a beautiful blue sky like this, the weather was glorious while we were there.  Well, that's all for now, I'm off to sort photographs on m laptop.  They are in such a jumble.  Wish  me luck! xxx

Wander

Hello again!  It's a very gloomy day here, so it is perfect for shutting myself in my craft room and doing some crafting!  I need to show you my DT layout for Let's Scrap.  Here is the sketch you need to use.

I must confess, the diamonds had me stumped, I wasn't sure what to use for that part of the sketch.  I then found a sheet of green card, which had diamonds all over it.  It is Bazzill card, and I can't even remember buying it! oops!! Confession time lol!

I used very recent  photographs showing the twins on holiday in January of this year.  They all went for a camping trip up to Hot Water Beach in New Zealand.  Corinne took the most amazing photos, and I just had to scrap them.  Look out for more layouts using some of the rest!

I used Blue Bazzill for the background.
Papers- Complete Boy My Mind's Eye
Green Diamond Card - Bazzill
Chipboard embellishments - Bo Bunny
Title - K & Co
Buttons from stash

Before I go, I just have to show you this one.  Harrison thought
the best part of his holiday was eating Smores beside the camp fire!   Yum!

Just look at his face!  Bliss! LOL!

I'll leave you on that happy note, lovely to see you here, and please
leave me a wee message, it really makes my day. xx

Summer!!! Scrapbook Magazine Issue 83

Scrapbook Magazine Issue 83

My Design Team layout in this Issue was based on the title - Summer

I knew I couldn't rely on photos from a Scottish Summer, so The Kiwis came to the rescue once more.  The photos show Harrison and his Daddy walking in the sea.  He wasn't too keen at first, like a lot of Autistic children, but eventually he decided that he liked it.  They were at the Beach at Mount Manganui in New Zealand.  We took a trip there when we were over and it was beautiful.

This layout gave me the chance to use up lots of little embellishments from my stash, including a bit of netting from a bag of oranges! It's great when you can scrap with things that were free!!  There is also sunglasses, little starfish, a bottle of juice and a wee lifeguard.  With the theme of summer, the title was perfect, and the metal Surf's Up just completed it.  How I wish I was back over there instead of sitting here on a grey day in Scotland.  Never mind, we are saving like crazy to get back over there, and the trip can't come quick enough, believe me!!

Must go and get some colouring done, as Jackson is not here and he won't pinch my pens!  Have a great Sunday everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Here is another layout I have been working on.  It is based on the Let's Scrap Design team call for November - March.  Wish me Luck!!

These photos were taken in New Zealand near Taupo.  Corinne, Eric and I went on a Jet Boat and it was simply amazing!!!!  It was really scary but really exhilarating and I would do it again in a minute!!!  We were absolutely soaked when we finished, especially Eric as he was at the outside that seemed to get the most of the water.  The driver was called Stevo and he did a wee wave with his hand to let you know he was going to put the boat through 360 degrees - brilliant!!!!  Poor Rob was the official photographer and bag holder - well someone had to do it!!!!!!!

Sponsored Swim update : - I did my mile today in 1 hour and 15 minutes.  I realy began to feel my neck and shoulders sore so it slowed me down a bit - only by 5 minutes so that's not bad!!!  I have a rest day tomorrow and then back to it again on Thursday for mile 3.  I am really feeling good doing this, as for once I am doing the sponsored event myself and not relying on other people to do it for me.  Back soon for another update!!

Where does the time go?  I keep asking myself!!  I should have put this post on here on Wednesday and it is now Sunday!!!  This is the sketch for Let's Scrap and I have chosen photos from our trip to New Zealand earlier this year.
!
We went away for a few days and stayed near Mount Manganui which is on the coast. We set off early one morning, (7 a.m. to be precise) on a trip to swim with Dolphins.  it was a cold, bleak day and to begin with we were pretty miserable and cold.  We sailed for hours and hours without seeing any dolphins and we were beginning to think we would not see any at all.  We did see flying fish and a massive shoal of fish which were right on the surface of the sea and they were flapping about all the time.  We were still sitting on the boat and I said to Corinne, shut your eyes and count to 3 and the dolphins will appear.  She did it and lo and behold, 2 minutes later, the Dolphins appeared! We had such a laugh about that!!   There were about 40 of them in the school and it was brilliant to watch them.  We got to go to the back of the boat and into the water, where we held onto a rail and the dolphins swam beside and underneath us.  I couldn't do it for very long as it hurt my shoulders, but Eric managed longer than me and Rob and Corinne did it twice and they loved it!! It was an amazing experience, but very hard trying to get a photo of the dolphins as they were so fast!!  It was an experience I will never forget and another thing off my bucket list!!
Now for the very late swimming update!!  I swam on Thursday and Friday last week, and did 80 lengths each time.  This is the first time I have done this two days in a row, so I have really been feeling the muscles in my legs and my bum!!!  (Hopefully I will tone them up a bit! LOL!!)  I have raised £170 so far through sponsorship which I am really pleased about.  This is the week I do it for real, so wish me luck!!  I'll let you know how I get on!!  Oh one other thing - Marie and Willie are having a wee boy!!!  Yet another Grandson for us!  Will never get the chance to knit up the pink wool I have!! LOL!!!  All is well and we are really happy about it!  Now the task of picking a name for the wee one - watch this space!!!

This is the sketch for Let's Scrap Month long Challenge. (September) and I have actually finished it with weeks to spare - Woo!!  I really liked this sketch and will probably use it again on another layout. The pictures were taken in New Zealand, on our 2nd visit when we went up to Coramandel.  We visited The Waterworks which is a marvellous place.  The whole site is either solar or water powered and they don't use eletricity at all.  There were games throughout the whole park where you could squirt water at each other, or ride a bike and it squirts out water and lots more.  Everything was made out of rubbish, with old ladles and bike wheels, old pots and pans, colanders everything you could think of being recycled.  The boys loved the water channel (in the photo above)  where they put little wooden boats into the water, and they went round a whole "canal" system and came back to them again.  They would have stayed there the whole afternoon I think!!  Overall though, I think the adults had more fun than the kids!!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

I used papers by Crate Paper - Sweet Branch Collection, the chipboard fish and the title are by K & Co., the summer and Sun stickers are from College Press - Hometown Summer Collection and the Cardstock is by my old friend, Bazzill! LOL!!!!!

I am really looking forward to my time on the design team and suggest you go along and look at the site if you have not already done so
