About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Strong

Hello and welcome to my little happy corner!  It is time to unveil the new sketch at Let's Scrap, and to announce some happy news from the recent Bloghop!!
!
.

I love using circles on my layouts, so  I really liked this sketch.  I have been tidying up my craft room, and I have found stuff which I forgot I had (sound familiar to anyone?) I found a spinner from Cosmo Cricket, and I thought it fitted in great with the photos I wanted to use.

Here is my layout.  I only used the right  side of the sketch.

Mu daughter and her husband have been doing some work in their garden, installing a pizza oven and a seating area.  Hadley and Dylan, were obviously trying to help!

I found these little metal corners and a grommet.  Such fun hammering that into place! lol!!

I also found some little tools.  Not quite the same tools as the boys are using, but I decided to use them anyway.

I had to use the Mr Strong embellishment to show how strong Dylan was!
I loved making this layout, and finding all the little bits to make it complete.

Now, onto the good news from the Blog Hop!  The winner of my RAK is.........................Alma Carter  Alma, and thank you for becoming my newest follower!  Please get in touch with me on my e-mail grannyrhoda@btinternet.com and I will get your prize posted on to you.
Thank you for everyone who entered the blog hop, it was a lot of fun!

Smile for the camera

Good Morning from a lovely, sunny Scotland.  Eric and I have somehow managed to bring the good weather back from our holiday in Cape Verdi.  We are just back from a 2 week holiday which was wonderful!

It is lovely to see the sunshine, but the weeds in the garden are about a foot high!  We are slogging away in the garden, trying to get it to look nice again.
Now, onto the reason for my blog post today.  It's 1st of June, so that means it is Let's Scrap time!

Here is the sketch that we used

This is the layout I created.  I am not happy with it though, so many things went wrong with it.  I used the wrong glue, my measurements were wrong and I wasted a load of card, and the layout isn't right, I lost a piece off an embellishment I wanted to use, the list goes on and on.  That's what happens when you rush things I guess.  I'm going to start the next sketch as soon as possible.

Well, I suppose I should go and get some more gardening done.  It's Wednesday, so that means we will have Jackson later, so won't get much done then.
Bye for now, and please leave a comment, good or bad, it makes me so happy.

Wander

Hello again!  It's a very gloomy day here, so it is perfect for shutting myself in my craft room and doing some crafting!  I need to show you my DT layout for Let's Scrap.  Here is the sketch you need to use.

I must confess, the diamonds had me stumped, I wasn't sure what to use for that part of the sketch.  I then found a sheet of green card, which had diamonds all over it.  It is Bazzill card, and I can't even remember buying it! oops!! Confession time lol!

I used very recent  photographs showing the twins on holiday in January of this year.  They all went for a camping trip up to Hot Water Beach in New Zealand.  Corinne took the most amazing photos, and I just had to scrap them.  Look out for more layouts using some of the rest!

I used Blue Bazzill for the background.
Papers- Complete Boy My Mind's Eye
Green Diamond Card - Bazzill
Chipboard embellishments - Bo Bunny
Title - K & Co
Buttons from stash

Before I go, I just have to show you this one.  Harrison thought
the best part of his holiday was eating Smores beside the camp fire!   Yum!

Just look at his face!  Bliss! LOL!

I'll leave you on that happy note, lovely to see you here, and please
leave me a wee message, it really makes my day. xx

Chubba

It's time for another sketch from Let's Scrap!  Here it is.

I really liked this sketch, and did this layout really quickly.
This shows Hadley as a 1 year old.  He was a right wee pudding,
and he had the nickname Chubba.
His twin brother Dylan was a lot smaller and he was called Dinky!!!

I used papers from K & Co - Hopscotch boy
Title used Thickers letters
Animal Stickers are from Sandylion.
This layout was good as it used up little strips of paper.
I keep every little bit you see! You never know when you will need them!

That's all for now, but thank you for coming by.
Please leave a comment, to let me know you were here.

Let's Scrap 9-15-15

It's time for a new sketch at Let's Scrap, and my first on the Design Team again.
I was on the Design Team a couple of years ago, and it is so nice to be back.

Here is the new sketch, and here is the link to the website so as you can enter if you wish.

Here is my layout for this sketch.  It shows Rob and the boys playing crazy golf.
Just look how happy Rob is, as he has had a hole in one!!
Harrison still needs a bit of help from his Daddy, but loved it all the same.

All papers, stickers and lettering is by Echo Park
Wee golf man is by Smirk
Bunting is from a pound shop (hubby bought it for me)
I'm off to work on another layout for a commission.  Why don't you try to do a layout based on this sketch?  I would love to see it over on the blog!

Once Upon A Sketch

I've just discovered a new Scrapbook Sketch Site Once Upon A Sketch  I really liked the sketch they had, so had to do a layout!!  Unfortunately, I found it too late for their Challenge, but now I have found them, I will be ready for the next one.

The boys were 5 on 26th April, they started school a few days after that and then  they got their Yellow Belts a couple of days after that!!  They were the youngest to ever do that in the School they go to.

Here are a couple of close-ups.  I used yellow Pan Pastels and a  piece of sequin mesh, and also blue Pan Pastels  with a clock stencil, as a background.  The paper strip, buttons and metal plate were all from Bo Bunny

I used Perfect Pearls to highlight over the pan pastel.  I put secret journalling behind the photo on the left, on the back of the No 5 Playing Card.

Thank you for stopping, and I hope you have fun crafting!!

It's A Girl's World

 It' a Girl's World
and I thought this card was perfect for the challenge!

I gave this card to my daughter Marie for her Birthday as she practices Karate along with the twins Dylan and Hadley.  Here are their photographs.

As you can see the card almost mirrors Corinne's photograph.

Here are Dylan and Hadley being graded for their yellow belts.  They were the youngest to do this, as they are meant to be 5 before they start Karate, but they got to start earlier, because their Mummy was doing it.  They got their Yellow Belts the week after their 5th Birthday!!
Well, must go and get more crafting done.  It's a miserable day outside, just perfect for shutting myself away in my craft room.  See you soon and thanks for stopping for a wee look.

Scrap 365 April 2014

I subscribed to Scrap 365 as soon as I heard it was coming out, so I have read every copy.  I have never entered any of my work to them, so today I decided to do that, and discovered the April Challenge was already closed!  Woopsie!!   Never mind, I will still show it on here, and will hopefully be on time next month!

This is the sketch from them for April.

Here is my layout based on this sketch.

This photo shows my beautiful Grandson, Hadley.  He always takes such a good photo, and I knew I would scrap this one as soon as I saw it.  The title "Mischievous" is perfect for his cheeky wee face!!

Here is what I used
Papers - Echo Park
Title and words - Echo Park
Quote - 7 Gypsies
Spinner - K & Co
Playtime puffy sticker - Rayher
Buttons - from stash

I bought a wonderful pack of Bo Bunny Papers and Embellishments, so I am off to play with them - so exciting when you get new stash!!

Have fun until  I see you again!!

Scrapbook Magazine issue 78

Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying your Sunday wherever you are.I've been to church today, and done some housework too, so I think I deserve some crafting time.

Two of my layouts were in Issue 78 of Scrapbook Magazine.
This first one was based on the Theme - New Beginnings.

I thought this photo of Greg with baby Freya on her first day out of hospital fitted the bill perfectly. This is a new beginning for him as he is a father for the first time.
Materials used were all from Bo bunny - Zip-A-Dee-doodle,  I love this range of paper, but then I love absolutely everything Bo Bunny!!

The 2nd layout was based on a sketch, which unfortunately, I forgot to copy, so can't show you here.  This shows Dylan and Hadley looking absolutely nothing like twins!!  They are looking more and more different the older they get, but I think they are so handsome!

Off to do some card making now, will have a look to see what challenges I can do this week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Shine & Grow

I am trying to play catch-up with the sketches over at Let's Scrap, as I didn't get any layouts done over Christmas.
this sketch is dated 2/1/13
This is the layout I did, using up my stash.  It shows the twins when they were just a few weeks old.  I have had this photo sitting around for ages, and decided to get it done!!
Papers - Webster's Pages
Lettering K & Co
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Gems - ZVA Creative
Butterflies and ribbon from stash.

We also received some really good news over the Christmas Period, as Greg and Kim announced that they would be having a baby in June!! Move over Royal Baby, ours is much more special! LOL!!!  they are going to find out at the next scan if it is a boy or a girl.  Secretly hoping it is a wee girl, so as I can do girlie pages and cards and knit wee pink outfits!!  I'll still love a wee boy just as much though!  Main thing is we want Kim and the baby to keep healthy.

Off We Go!

This is the sketch at Let's Scrap and I have only used the right hand side on this occasion.
The photos show Hadley and Dylan on their first day at Kindy.  I don't know what they have in their backpacks, but they look like they are going for a week instead of a day!!

I have used
Papers from Pink Paislee - Vintage Moon
House, Cloud chipboard - Collage Press - Hometown Summer
Spinner and chipboard arrow - K & Co. - Urban Rhapsody
Lettering - American Crafts - Thickers

I have had such a busy week, as we are looking after our wee Grand dog, Buddy as Greg and Kim are away on holiday.  He is keeping us on our toes, and he is being spoilt rotten as usual!!  I've also been looking after wee Jackson, while his Mummy goes out to work for a couple of hours a night, and also when his Mummy and Daddy went to a wedding on Saturday night!  It has been a really quick week, but it has been lots of fun!!

I have to share these pictures of my little men - firstly, Harrison,  Hadley, Harrison and Dylan looking really handsome

and then Jackson, looking really cute!!!

I love my wee Grandsons, and who can blame me?
Take care till the next time!!

Sunny Day

Hello from a sunny St. Madoes!!  It is a glorious day here and has been for the past two days!  Yippee!!  I have had a busy time lately, baking a cake for Marie's Birthday (which didn't come out anything like I wanted it to!) her Birthday Tea on Thursday and a family meal out on Saturday night.   So, not much scrapping done for Let's Scrap International Scrapbooking Month  I'm afraid, and when I did get a layout done, it was wrong and didn't meet the criteria it should have! DOH!!!  I printed out the sketch above and set to work making the layout below, using the right hand side only and rotating it clockwise.  It was then that I decided to check the rules for this challenge, and discovered I was supposed to  actually make a layout showing me scrapping!!  As you can see from the photo, this does not show me scrapping! LOL!!!  It shows my wee Grandsons, Dylan and Hadley, trying out some naked climbing!!  As usual, Dylan is leading the way and Hadley is bravely trying to follow!  Goodness only knows what the neighbours thought when Dylan's wee face popped over the fence! I placed it in the gallery anyway, but I realise it will not win the challenge as it doesn't meet the criteria required!  Still laughing about it actually!!

All papers, stickers and elements from C rate Paper, Seasons & Restorations.
I'm doing another post in a few minutes, so I'll be back soon!!

Friday, 11 May 2012

This month is National Scrapbooking Month over at Let's Scrap and they have challenges the whole month long.  I have only managed one so far and this is it!!!  I just used the left side of the sketch and the pictures show Hadley and Dylan attacking Harrison, when we were trying to take photos.  didn't get any "nice" ones, but we laugh at these!!!I used Fancy Pants Papers and the lettering is American Crafts Thickers.
Just realised I did not show the cards which I made for the boys for their Birthday.   They were both made using images from Mo Manning.   The first one is for Dylan, and I tried to make clouds for the first time, and was pleased with the result. I chose this image for Dylan because I thought it looked like him! LOL!!!
This card is Hadley's and I thought it suited him, as he is always dressing up!
This is a quick post today, as I am still on a card-making mission and have lots to do!  Thank you for stopping by once again and please leave some comments to let me know you have been here!!

Sunny Day

It is a lovely sunny day here today, thank goodness!!!!!!!  We have had constant rain for weeks and I am getting just a wee bitty fed up of it!" LOL!!!!
I am entering the above card in the Kenny K Challenge - Anything goes.
The white background on the card is covered in Twinkles and it looks a wee bitty funny in the photo!!  I used paper from my stash, which again, came free from a magazine (I am slowly working my way through it all!)  I also used black gems which I have had for years!
a
This is the sketch from Let's Scrap.  I have used two photos of Hadley and I have only used the left hand side of the sketch.  The papers were from an old K & Co pad  named Hopscotch which is actually falling to bits as there is not much left in it!  Ribbons and brads were from my stash too. I made the flower by cutting a spiral with my deckle edge scissors, then winding it up to form a circle.

Well, I am now going to take advantage of the weather today and I am going to do some work in the garden.  Marie and Jackson are coming down for tea so I will hopefully get lots of cuddles from my wee man!!
Thank you so much for stopping at my blog!

Challenges

I have been busy making cards for challenges this week.  I wish I was clever enough to make a card and enter it into numerous challenges at once, but I can never manage that!!  So here we go.......
Challenge One - Simon Says Stamp - Use the sketch above by Dawny.......
................ and here is my card, using a Lilli of the Valley image.  I have had this sweet wee image coloured for a long time and have never got round to using it.  The papers (from Pink Petticoat) show some of my favourite colours. The buttons, bows and wee birdie were from my stash.

 Challenge Two
This card is (as you can probably guess) for Mo's Challenge, where the theme is Flowers.  This image is sooooooooooooooo cute! I love it!  I love my Teddies so I can totally relate to this1 LOL!!!!

Challenge Three
The third card is for The Cutie Pie Challenge Blog where the theme is Circles.  It shows another of my favourite colour combos, blue and brown.  The papers are from Nitwits and were free in a magazine.  The image is from Magnolia and I have placed her on the steps which are also from Magnolia.  I added some leaves and flowers and a beaded pin.  I used my cricut and my Spellbinders Beaded Circles to cut the circles.
Before  I go, I must share a couple of photos of my Grandsons firstly, we have Hadley, wearing his Mummy's lipstick!!!!

 gorgeous isn't he? LOL!!!!

and finally, wee Jackson.  Yes, we all feel like this sometimes don't we? LOL!!!
thanks for looking at my blog - take care.

 He is here!!!!!!!
Please welcome Jackson Alexander Munn born at 08:09 on 28th February 2012 weighing 7lbs.
He is absolutely gorgeous and has a mass of black hair just like his Mummy had!
I can't believe it is nearly a week since he was born and I haven't had the time to put a post on here! LOL!!!
This is the card I made for his Mummy and Daddy using a new stamp from Magnolia.  It was just perfect!
This is his wee hand beside his Uncle Greg's thumb.  Greg was terrified to hold him and was frightened he would break him I think!  He will get used to it though!

I'm off to get some crafting done now before Marie Willie and Jackson appear for a visit!
Thanks for stopping by!
