About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

I have been very lax and I realised I did not write up my swimming blog on Friday. I did 70 lengths once again, in 60 minutes Woo!!  Lovely and quiet in the pool, so peace to get on and do my thing!!  Strange man in pool though, who is there from time to time and he does something like Tai Chi whilst walking through the pool.  He went one better on Friday and looked like he was trying to do synchronised swimming - on his own!!!  He was swimming underwater, with one hand up above the water pointed straight up at the ceiling.  Very strange indeed!!  Still busy making cards and these are my latest offerings.

This is an image from Kenny K and I thought it was brilliant!!  I am going to make a few cards using this image!!
This image is from Hanglar & StAnglar and I coloured it using my favourite colours at the moment for Christmas Cards!

This is the card for Challenge #102 Furry Friends  at Mo's digital challenge. This image is called Christmas Morning.  I love the way the wee dog is head first into his stocking! It reminds me of when I had my cats and they got a stocking too and dived in just like this!
Must go now and finish the layout I am working on for Let's Scrap!  Swimming again tomorrow, so hopefully will be back tomorrow!!

This layout is based on Sketch  #226 which you can see below from Sketch Inspirations.  I love working with circles so this was right up my street.  The picture is one of Harrison which hi Mummy took when she was experimenting with some new camera techniques.  I loved this photo and just had to scrap it.  (I also have it as the wallpaper on my p.c.!)

I have been busy making cards as Marie and I have been invited along to a fund raising event in a village close by.  We are taking our cards to sell, so there has been a flurry of activity in the craft room!!  the card below shows a Lili of the Valley image and I used a Magnolia image of the open gate as well.

This is another Lili of the Valley image, one of the new stamps called Milly - isn't she gorgeous?  She reminds me of my daughter Marie when she was a little girl!!  I haven't told her that though!)
This is a Magnolia image, again it is one of the newer stamps. I also decorated the inside which I am trying to do on more cards now.  I think it makes them look really special.
The last card ia a Hanglar image and the tree is a digital image which was downloaded from a website, but unfortunately, I can't remember which one.
Now, I am off to do another layout as I have just had even more photos of my DGS printed off!  thank you for stopping by!

I have made this card for the challenge on Lovely Hanglar only.  You had to use the sketch shown here.  I have not taken a very good photo as it is on a white card and there should be a border of white showing right round.  Never mind, I am sure you get the idea!  The paper is from Nitwit collections and it was free in one of the many card magazines I buy.  I simply adore the colours of this paper and have used it on many cards.  I think that is my favourite colour combination at the moment, Blue and brown.  Need to work on a few scrapbook pages now, I am preparing 3 layouts for a challenge in Scrapbook Magazine and I have made a mess of one of them Boo!  Will need to start over again!

Wedding Cards and a layout.

Marie and I went along to a coffee Morning in the Village and sold some cards.  We gave a donation to Carse in bloom who were having the event to raise money for more plants in the village.  They do a wonderful job and the village looks lovely with all the flower boxes.  A lovely lady asked me to do a special card which I did, and you can see it above.  I was really pleased with the way it turned out.  I used an image from Crafts U Print, paper from K & Co., and gems and peel-offs from my stash.
I just love this Magnolia image of Edwin giving her a cuddle - it is sooo sweet!
This card was made using one of my new Hanglar and StAnglar stamps.  I love it!  I used a Magnolia stamp for the fence and paper and flowers from stash.
This is image of a sketch from Let's Scrap for National Scrapbooking Day.  I actually missed the deadline to enter it, but never mind!  I really must get my scrapping done quicker.  Marie and I had gone on a Road Trip in 1995  away up to John O'Groats at the very top of Scotland.  I had never driven so far on my own before and it really was an adventure.  We found a Llama Farm, which we didn't expect in the Scottish Highlands, and we also went to Dunrobin Castle amongst other things.  It was great fun and we still talk about it and laugh.

I have been busy making cards and thought I would share some.  The first one is a  Lilli of the Valley stamp and once again I have used Promarkers.  Some sticky ribbon, flowers, pearls and sparkly buttons complete the card.

This is an old Penny Black stamp, but I simply love it.  The Cat is so cute in his boxer shorts.  The sentiment is a Lilli of the Valley stamp and paper is from stash.
Another Lilli of the Valley stamp which is on a Get Well Card.  I used my Martha Stewart border punch to create the layered effect.
My daughter, Marie and I made some Thank you Cards for her friend who has just had a baby boy.  This was one of the samples which we made to show her.  this shows a really cute Hanglar and StAngler Stamp and we die-cut the cards and the backing paper to give them a lovely shape.  We used a Cuttlebug to make the mount for the wee baby boy picture.

I thought I would attempt to make a "scrapbook" canvas, and I am actually quite pleased with my first attempt!  The photograph shows my daughter Corinne's Parents-in-law.  We all stopped for a bite to eat in a lovely little restaurant and we sat outside in the garden.  It was a lovely sunny day (as it normally is in New Zealand!!) and I managed to get this natural photo of Graham and Christine.  I will get it packaged up and sent over to them as a thank you for all they did for us when we were over on holiday.  I am now going to start a Scrapbook layout so wish me luck!

This is a card I made using a Hanglar & Stanglar image. I used my Promarkers and Prima flowers
.

This is the March sketch from the Bella Creations. The pictures show Dylan and Hadley when they were 20 months old. I decided to record the things which they really like so as when they are older, they will know what they liked as babies.

First of all - a card for a baby boy - my friend's daughter has just had a baby so I made 3 cards in order to choose the one I preferred!

This is a birthday card for a wee boy.  This is another wee boy's card - I am in love with Hanglar and Stanglar stamps at the moment, I am having great fun colouring them with my promarkers. So much so that my "blush" marker has run out! Will need to get another one real soon!

This is a layout showing Harrison, Hadley and Dylan in their wee speedos - or "budgie smugglers" as we like to call them!!! They were playing in the garden in their paddling pool and had such a good time. - We did too just watching them!!!
This is a layout showing Harrison when he was just a few months old. His Daddy is a Chef, so they dressed Harrison in a Chef's hat and placed him in a pan with items strewn around about! Poor wee guy, you can tell from his face that he wasn't happy! Well, I must go and work on another layout!
