About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Old layouts

I have been doing layouts for Challenges but don't want to put them on here until the date of the actual challenge.  I thought therefore, that I would use a couple of older layouts today.  The one above shows the twins when they were just weeks old and still in incubators attached with all the wires which you can see.  It is hard to think that the wild wee boys we see now were once the frail wee things that you see here! The hospital team did a marvellous job and although they were born 11 weeks early, they survived and are perfect!
This shows the boys when all their tubes and wires had been removed and they seemed to sleep better if they were placed in the same cot.  I just love the way they are snuggling in together!  It's nice to know that they still give each other a kiss and a cuddle - when they are not fighting that is!!!

More Challenges

I have made this card to enter into two challenges.

Magnoliamania - Use sketch and Ribbon
Magnolialicious Highlites - Black & White with a splash of colour

I used a Magnolia image (of course) and coloured her using my promarkers.  The paper is very old and is from my stash and I can't remember who the maker is!  The flowers were from Prima and the wee charms are actually earrings bought in a sale for 50p a pair!  I cut the leaves from scrap card using my spellbinders die.

I don't usually decorate the inside of cards, but I think it looks lovely so will do it a lot more now.  Hope you like it!

More Challenges

I have made this card and I am entering it into the following two challenges.

Magnoliamania challenge blog - Use sketch and Ribbon

I have used a Magnolia image (of course) and coloured her with my promarkers.  The paper is from my stash and has been there for a long, long, time! The leaves I cut from card using my spellbinder die and the flowers were from Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts.

I don't usually decorate the insides of cards, but I think it looks lovely, so I think I will do it more.  Hope you like it!

Here is another card which I am entering in the Mo's Digital Pencil challenge.  you had to use the following verse for inspiration.
"A Recipe for Friendship"
Take two people with common interests,
Mix together with love and understanding,
Stir in a sense of humor and a lot of compassion,
Bake for a lifetime...
and enjoy the fruits of your labor
knowing that you both have made a remarkable concoction
 that will last forever!
I think it's a lovely verse and I picked the image above as I thought it fitted the bill perfectly.  I would love to think that Eric and I will be as happy as this old couple when we are older greyer and wrinklier!

Eric's pet blackbird

We have a really friendly blackbird in our garden and he comes to us for bread for his chicks.  If we do not throw bread out, he comes into the house to tell us!!  Eric was sitting at the table and the birdie jumped up beside him to get some bread.  We are now being visited by the baby birds and they screech to get the bread!!

I have made this card for the challenge on Lovely Hanglar only.  You had to use the sketch shown here.  I have not taken a very good photo as it is on a white card and there should be a border of white showing right round.  Never mind, I am sure you get the idea!  The paper is from Nitwit collections and it was free in one of the many card magazines I buy.  I simply adore the colours of this paper and have used it on many cards.  I think that is my favourite colour combination at the moment, Blue and brown.  Need to work on a few scrapbook pages now, I am preparing 3 layouts for a challenge in Scrapbook Magazine and I have made a mess of one of them Boo!  Will need to start over again!

Published again!

How could I forget!!!! I have been published yet again in Scrapbook Magazine Issue 55.  I am so excited!!!!! (in the words of the song, but don't ask me to sing!!!))  this shows my  beautiful wee Grandsons, wearing cowboy hats which their Mummy, Daddy and Auntie Marie had been wearing when they went out the previous night.  I just love the photo where Harrison is lifting up the hat so as he can see Hadley.  He has such a cheeky wee smile on his face while he is doing it!

Mo's Digital challenge

I have made another card for Mo's Digital Challenge, where you had to use the sketch above.  I love making scrapbooks layouts from sketches, but this is the first card I have made from a sketch. I love this little image, the expression on the cat's face is just priceless!  I've not been feeling too great since Saturday, and it is very frustrtating because I would like to craft, but i don't have the energy to do it! Boo Hoo!  Never mind, feeling better by the day so will not be long until I am in my Happy place again!

Magnolia Mania and Magnolia Down under Challenges

Hello Again!  I have entered this card into the challenge, which is to use punches on Magnolia Mania Blogspot.  I have used papers from Nitwit Collections, flowers from stash and I have punched out leaves using my Cuttlebug.  I also used a Martha Stewart punch to make the heart borders across the card. I am also entering into the challenge on Magnolia Down Under Challenges which is to use one of Kylie's sketches, as you can see here.
