About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Here is my card for the Let's Scrap challenge 1.18.12 for this week.  It is based on the sketch below.  I am still trying to use up my stash, and the papers are from Basic Grey, the embellishment is from K & Co., and the ribbon is from stash.

This sketch is from Simon Says Stamp and is the first time I have entered a card on this challenge Blog.  The card is being sent to Harrison, as he starts "big" school on 3rd February.  As he is in N.Z. I won't be there to see him setting off to school, but I hope this card will let him know that his Granny and Grampa are thinking about him.  It doesn't seem any time at all since he was born and now he is 5 and going to school - where does the time go?  Corinne and Rob are sending him to a school which has able bodied children as well as children with problems like Harrison.  He is so clever and needs stimulation and I know without a doubt he will fit right in and get on great!
I used papers from K & Co. (small wonder), the chipboard is from Making Memories and the image of course is from Mo Manning!  It should have been entered in Mo's challenge last week, but guess what?  Yeah you're right, I was too late to get it in!!!!  GGGRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! LOL!!!

My Knitting

Oooooooh two posts in one week!  How good am I?  I thought I would share some of the knitting I have been doing for Marie's baby.  Having a great time knitting away and everything else seems to be taking a back seat!! LOL!!!

This wee set is meant to be first size, but it has come out a bit bigger!  Never mind, he will grow into it!!  Having said that, they think he will be a big baby, so maybe this will be the only one which fits him! LOL!!!

The trousers of this wee suit look a bit weird, but once they are on, they will be fine as you can see below.  i tried the outfit on Corinne's old doll which she had christened John Paul.  Poor wee soul, he has a wonky eye, no eyelashes, a missing finger and a bite mark on his head where Marie bit him!!!!! (Little horror that she was!! LOL!!!)

I like this wee cable set and matching beenie, and the wool is really really soft.  Nice and cuddly!

Okay, I am off to do more knitting!  See you soon!

I managed to do the Let's Scrap sketch in time this week Woo-hoo!!!  It was a 2-pager too!!!  I got a whole load of photos of the boys printed and they arrived in the post yesterday, so I set to work.  I realised that I hadn't printed any off since September of last year, and, as Corinne usually sends around 70 at a time, there were a lot!!!

I decided to use the photos of Harrison's 5th Birthday and they show him at Kindy.  All his little friends drew him pictures and he sat at the front of the class with his teacher and talked about what they had drawn for him.  He then got to blow out the candles!  We were over in New Zealand the past two years, but didn't manage it this Christmas, so I am really missing them all dreadfully.  I wish it was a case of just jumping in the car and going to see them instead of having to fly to the other side of the world.

Here is the Let's Scrap sketch.  I am trying to use up papers from my stash as I have soooooooooo much.  These papers were Fancy Pants - About a Boy and Echo Park - A walk in the park and Little Boy. I'm not sure where I got the wee chipboard embellishments, but they have been in the box forever!!!  Well, must go and do some more knitting for this wee Grandson of mine who will arrive in the next few weeks.  The midwife thinks that mMarie is 35 weeks and not 32 weeks as she thought, so panic is just beginning to set in!  Here is a photo of her looking absolutely swell!!

Bye for now!

It's Let's Scrap time again and I only used the left hand side of the sketch this week. I am desperately trying to use up my stash before I buy any more, so this was made using Sassafrass Lass Papers and stickers and lettering  were from Echo Park, Little Boy collection.  Very quick layout and I really must make more simple layouts like this to get through my stash!!!  this shows Dylan with his toy hard hat which he loves!!!  The simple things are always the best are they not?  Feeling a bit poorly at the moment, so I am off to do some crocheting.  The housework can wait for another day or two I've decided!!  I hope everyone has a Happy, Healthy and Wealthy New Year!
Thanks for stopping by!!!

Late yet again!!!!!

Am I the only one who wishes that all the celebrations were past so as I can get back to normal again?  I don't know what day of the week it is I am  so confused!!!!  I just realised I never put this Let's Scrap sketch layout on my blog last week, as the new sketch is out today!!!  This must be the quickest I have scrapped a photo, as Corinne sent over the photos one day, and the layout was completed the next!!!!  I love this layout which shows Hadley wearing his Santa Suit to put up the Christmas Tree.
I used My Mind's Eye - Merry Days of Christmas Papers and stickers
Martha Stewart snowflakes, and  Rudolph was from an old Christmas Card.

The challenge over at Mo Manning's is to show your favourite card of the year using Mo's images.  I had to pick this one, as I love it so much!  It was made for my friend's son and his wife, as they had a baby girl.  The image is brilliant and I will use it again to make a boy card.
Must go now and look at the new Let's Scrap sketch and see what I can come up with!!

Friday, 23 December 2011

I haven't been in blogland for a wee while now, as I have been sooooooooooo busy.  I am having a wee rest from card making, as I had so many cards to make for Christmas!!!  This first layout is based on  sketch 249 from Sketch Inspiration.  It shows Hadley and Dylan wearing their Bob the Builder equipment.  Hadley went one further and wore his Daddy's big boots!
I used papers from 3 bugs called tool time, Lettering is Thickers from American Crafts.  Stickers are from Karen Foster, Plastic Tools were buttons, and the Bob the Builder Label was from a t-shirt which I bought! for the boys.

I used the left hand side only of Let's Scrap 12-14-11 and this shows Hadley wearing his Santa Suit while decorating the Christmas Tree.  Marie had sent this outfit over for Harrison 2 years ago and it now fits the twins.  While Hadley was delighted to wear it, Dylan didn't quite feel the same way as you can see in the last 2 photos!! It made me laugh so much!!!

I used Papers from My Mind's Eye bling icicles from Martha Stewart and Rudolph was an old Christmas card.

Must go now and do some knitting for this new Grand baby of mine!!!! Can't wait for him to appear!

I've been card making again!    I have decided to enter the card above into a challenge at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges. I just found this site recently and I love the images.  The theme is "Anything goes"  which makes it nice and easy.   The Christmas Tree actually came off a Christmas Card I received last year (recycling!!!) and the papers are by Bo Bunny.  The sentiment which I thought matched perfectly is from K & Co and is on sale in our shop.  I made the following card for their challenge last week, which was use your own writing on a card, but I didn't get it on here in time!!!   Just thought I would let you see it anyway!!!  I always seem to be late with these challenges, and really must get organised!!

Finally, the following card is being entered into The Saturated Canary Challenge #5 "Anything Goes"  I think these images are wonderful and I love their big eyes!!  I used Nitwits Papers which were free in a craft magazine I subscribe to.  The blue berries and leaves are by Prima and the gems and ribbons were from my stash.  I used Cosmic Shimmer Twinkles on the gift bag to give it a bit of bling!!

I will be selling these cards at a Craft Show in Brechin this Saturday, so hopefully it will be busier than the last fayre we went to!  Just hope the weather is not too bad, as snow has been forecast boo :o( !!!!
Thank you for stopping by once again and please come back again soon!!
