About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Book About Me #1

This is my first layout on the Let's Scrap Website 'Book about Me'  (BAM) challenge.  I have only used the left side of sketch 7-27-11.

One of the suggestions given for your layout was -
What’s in a name? – There are many ways you could scrap about your name.
  1. What is your name’s definition?
I decided to use this as a theme, as I have an unusual name, Rhoda.  It is a Greek name and means "A Rose"  Rhoda was also mentioned in the Bible and I have included the following verse from (Acts 12:13)  on a tag under one of the photographs.

13. Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer the door.    14.When she recognized Peter's voice, she was so overjoyed, she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, "Peter is at the door!"  15.  "You're out of your mind,"  they told her.  When she kept insisting that it was so, they said "It must be his angel."

These are the earliest photographs I have of myself, and they were actually found on an old camera spool when my Mother died.  We sent it to be developed, and lo and behold - there I was!!!  It was so exciting! I was surprised they could actually develop them after such a long time.

This layout is based on Let's Scrap Sketch 7-6-11  Hadley loves his cuddly toys, but Elmo must be one of his favourites.  He used to fight with his brother Dylan as they only had one between them, so when I went over for a visit, I took another one with me.  Dylan soon grew tired of Elmo, as he is more rough and tumble, so now, Hadley cuddles them both and they even watch t.v. together!!  I used TPC Studio, Transportation papers and brads and the Elmo stickers were from Jolee's Boutique.

This is Let's Scrap 7-13-11 and shows Dylan using his toys in an alternative way!  He is such a cheeky wee boy and this just shows him at his best.  I used 3 Bugs in a Rug, Snips n' Snails papers and stickers and the yellow buttons (lots of them and I don't know why!) were from my stash

Love U Elmo!

This layout is based on Lets Scrap sketch 7-6-11  The pictures show Hadley with his favourite toy - Elmo.  He had one ELmo, but he kept fighting with his twin brother dylan, so I took another Elmo over with me when we went to visit N.Z.  Now, if he can get them both, he is doubly happy!!!  Elmo even sits to watch T.V. with him!!!

We are puppy-sitting this weekend, as the gang are away to T in the Park at Balado.  The weather has been awful - pouring rain one minute, then glorious sunshine the next.  Marie said she has never known a year like it.  One minute they have jackets off, sunglasses and suncream on, next minute sunglasses off, jackets on and hoods up!!!  This is Buddy sitting in his favourite corner of the garden.  If he steals anything, this is where he goes with it!!!

This layout is based on Sketch  #226 which you can see below from Sketch Inspirations.  I love working with circles so this was right up my street.  The picture is one of Harrison which hi Mummy took when she was experimenting with some new camera techniques.  I loved this photo and just had to scrap it.  (I also have it as the wallpaper on my p.c.!)

I have been busy making cards as Marie and I have been invited along to a fund raising event in a village close by.  We are taking our cards to sell, so there has been a flurry of activity in the craft room!!  the card below shows a Lili of the Valley image and I used a Magnolia image of the open gate as well.

This is another Lili of the Valley image, one of the new stamps called Milly - isn't she gorgeous?  She reminds me of my daughter Marie when she was a little girl!!  I haven't told her that though!)
This is a Magnolia image, again it is one of the newer stamps. I also decorated the inside which I am trying to do on more cards now.  I think it makes them look really special.
The last card ia a Hanglar image and the tree is a digital image which was downloaded from a website, but unfortunately, I can't remember which one.
Now, I am off to do another layout as I have just had even more photos of my DGS printed off!  thank you for stopping by!
