About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Last 2 challenge entries.

Hello everyone from a rainy St Madoes!!  Yes, you've guessed, the sun didn't stay very long :o(  I have gone from shorts, strappy t-shirt and flip-flops, to long trousers, hoodie, socks and slippers!! LOL!!!  It is meant to get better at the weekend so fingers crossed.

This is the last day of the month long challenge at Let's Scrap    I didn't manage to do as many challenges as I wanted, as I have been so busy, but managed to get these two completed.
This first one is a challenge set by Elizna Parsons DT and it was to use a Bingo card and a banner on your layout.  We had to use a let's scrap sketch of our own choice, so I picked the one above and used the left side.
The layout shows Marie and Corinne and was taken when we were all over in New Zealand (Jan 2010).  I noticed on the Bingo Card that the numbers 28 and 33 were there, and I circled them (like on a bingo card) as that is the ages on the girls' birthdays that year.  I used the papers which I won after being picked as the weekly winner on Let's Scrap a few weeks ago. (Very exciting indeed!)  The papers were from My Little Shoebox,  a brand which I have never used before.  The flowers were on a die-cut sheet and you coiled them round to make each flower.  I really like the way this turned out, and I love the colours on the whole layout.
This layout was based on the sketch below, where you had to  use Hexagons.  Now, as everyone knows, a hexagon has 6 sides.  So would someone care to tell me why, when cutting out my shapes, I made Octagons which have 8 sides???????  Silly Woman!!  I had to start again, and didn't want to waste the shapes I had cut out, so transformed them from 8 sides to 6 sides. This meant they are a bit strange, but they are hexagons nonetheless!! (honestly!)
The layout shows Willie, Marie's boyfriend just a wee while after Jackson was born.  I love the photos on the left, as he is looking at Jackson as if to say "Are you real?"
The papers I used were from DCWV Nana's Nursery.  I have had the papers for a while and I wondered how on earth I could use purple papers when all my Grandchildren are boys, but when I saw the colour of the chair and Willie's t-shirt, I knew I could use them!!
That's all for now, I must go and do some housework.  I have a man coming to fix my washing machine this afternoon - Joy upon joy!  More money! LOL!!!  I will then have to wash the pile of clothes which have built up since it broke down.  I have often wondered if Eric and I are very dirty, or very clean, as I always seem to have heaps of washing and there are only 2 of us?
Bye for now and thanks for stopping to take a look!

Teddy Bo Challenge & Design Team Call

Over at The Teddy Bo Challenge  they have a sketch for you to base your cards on, and they are also having a Design Team Call.  I have decided to send in this card below.  I think this image is amazing, I just love the way Teddy Bea's hat is blowing in the wind!!  I have been experimenting with putting clouds behind the images on my cards, and I am quite pleased with the result if I do say so myself! LOL!!!  Next I will try to add some trees in the background too!   I would love to be on a Design Team, so I am hoping that luck is with me and I am chosen!
My cards are all finished for the Coffee Morning on Saturday, and I think I have covered lots of categories, (New Home, New Baby etc), but I always get asked for something I don't have!  I am trying to be prepared this time, and I am taking some peel offs and rub-ons which say Mum, Dad, Sister etc, and also numbers, so I will hopefully be able to adapt one of my existing cards for any impossible queries!!
Well, the sun is still shining, so I am off to sit outside for another wee while.
I hope you can have fun in the sun wherever you are!!

Cutie Pie Challengeand Design Team Call

Hello and welcome back for my second post of the day!!  Over at  The Cutie Pie Challenge Blog they are looking for Easel cards which are based on the sketch above.  As Easels are my favourite cards to make, I just had to give it a go!!  They are also having a Design Team Call, so I am entering my card for that too!  Wish me luck won't you?  I have used a stamp from Molly Blooms, which is so cute!  The papers were free from a magazine (slowly getting through my stash!) and the flowers are really old too!  I threaded some Baker's Twine through the circles which were cut using my Nestabilities, and I added a piece of yellow ribbon. I also added some little orange gems in the corners.  I must admit, yellow and orange are not my favourite colours to work with, so I challenged myself with this card!!
Okay, I am going to take advantage of this lovely day and sit in the sun for a wee while, don't worry, I will put my suncream on!  Enjoy your day, wherever you are!

Sunny Day

Hello from a sunny St. Madoes!!  It is a glorious day here and has been for the past two days!  Yippee!!  I have had a busy time lately, baking a cake for Marie's Birthday (which didn't come out anything like I wanted it to!) her Birthday Tea on Thursday and a family meal out on Saturday night.   So, not much scrapping done for Let's Scrap International Scrapbooking Month  I'm afraid, and when I did get a layout done, it was wrong and didn't meet the criteria it should have! DOH!!!  I printed out the sketch above and set to work making the layout below, using the right hand side only and rotating it clockwise.  It was then that I decided to check the rules for this challenge, and discovered I was supposed to  actually make a layout showing me scrapping!!  As you can see from the photo, this does not show me scrapping! LOL!!!  It shows my wee Grandsons, Dylan and Hadley, trying out some naked climbing!!  As usual, Dylan is leading the way and Hadley is bravely trying to follow!  Goodness only knows what the neighbours thought when Dylan's wee face popped over the fence! I placed it in the gallery anyway, but I realise it will not win the challenge as it doesn't meet the criteria required!  Still laughing about it actually!!

All papers, stickers and elements from C rate Paper, Seasons & Restorations.
I'm doing another post in a few minutes, so I'll be back soon!!

Friday, 11 May 2012

This month is National Scrapbooking Month over at Let's Scrap and they have challenges the whole month long.  I have only managed one so far and this is it!!!  I just used the left side of the sketch and the pictures show Hadley and Dylan attacking Harrison, when we were trying to take photos.  didn't get any "nice" ones, but we laugh at these!!!I used Fancy Pants Papers and the lettering is American Crafts Thickers.
Just realised I did not show the cards which I made for the boys for their Birthday.   They were both made using images from Mo Manning.   The first one is for Dylan, and I tried to make clouds for the first time, and was pleased with the result. I chose this image for Dylan because I thought it looked like him! LOL!!!
This card is Hadley's and I thought it suited him, as he is always dressing up!
This is a quick post today, as I am still on a card-making mission and have lots to do!  Thank you for stopping by once again and please leave some comments to let me know you have been here!!

Hello everyone!I've been busy making cards for an upcoming
Fund raising Coffee Morning here in St Madoes in a couple of weeks.  It is for Carse in Bloom, who are a group of volunteers who are making a wonderful job of making our village beautiful with tubs of flowers.  They are doing such a wonderful job and the village is looking lovely all year round now.  Marie and I are having a wee stall there again, so hence the card making frenzy! LOL!!!
This first card shows one of my favourite ever images from Mo Manning (and I do love her images!!)- Jack & Ginger.  They are such a lovely old couple and I love the way they are holding hands, so cute!!  This was actually meant to be entered for a challenge, but guess what?  I was late! LOL!!!

It was Eric's birthday at the end of April, and this is the card I made for him.  A saucy wee lady from Kenny K to cheer him up.  Well, I certainly don't look like that, so this was the next best thing! LOL!!
This is another Kenny k image, as I really must make some male cards.  I used some chipboard which came free in a magazine behind the image to give it a different look.
And finally!  (for now at least!) Here we have Young Love, again from Mo Manning.  I love them almost as much as Jack & Ginger. This is being entered into the challenge at Cutie Pie Challenge Blog where the theme is monochromatic.  This is the very first monochromatic card I have done and I really really like it!! I think I will be trying this technique a bit more.

Well, must go and get some more cards made, but I will leave you with a photo of Dylan just after he has blown out the candles on his Birthday Cake, then a close up of his cake, and then Hadley's.  Isn't their Mummy wonderful to be able to make cards like these?

Sunny Day

It is a lovely sunny day here today, thank goodness!!!!!!!  We have had constant rain for weeks and I am getting just a wee bitty fed up of it!" LOL!!!!
I am entering the above card in the Kenny K Challenge - Anything goes.
The white background on the card is covered in Twinkles and it looks a wee bitty funny in the photo!!  I used paper from my stash, which again, came free from a magazine (I am slowly working my way through it all!)  I also used black gems which I have had for years!
a
This is the sketch from Let's Scrap.  I have used two photos of Hadley and I have only used the left hand side of the sketch.  The papers were from an old K & Co pad  named Hopscotch which is actually falling to bits as there is not much left in it!  Ribbons and brads were from my stash too. I made the flower by cutting a spiral with my deckle edge scissors, then winding it up to form a circle.

Well, I am now going to take advantage of the weather today and I am going to do some work in the garden.  Marie and Jackson are coming down for tea so I will hopefully get lots of cuddles from my wee man!!
Thank you so much for stopping at my blog!
