About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Take 2

Okay, this is Take 2

It always helps when applying for a Design Team Place, that you get everything correct, i.e. you make sure you use that company's stamps on your entry!!! doh!!!!!
So, here we go

Here is the card I would like to use to apply for the Clean and Simple Design Team    I always like to have some Wedding Cards made, as people ask for them quite a lot.  I love this image, as it is not too fancy, in fact, it is clean and simple!!
I mounted the image onto some blue card.  The only embellishments I used were pearls.  A flourish from ZVA Creative, and a couple of pearls from The Hobby House.

There we go all done, and I think I have complied with all the rules this time LOL!!

Bobbin Fairy Clean and Simple

Hello from a dull and dreary Perthshire.  Where has the sun gone?  All the bulbs are coming up in the garden, so we know for sure that Spring is on the way!!

I've been busy making cards, and I want to show you this one I made using an image from
he is called Bobbin Fairy

I love Mo's fairies, they all look so cute and cheeky!

This is a CAS (clean and simple) card, and I love the way it has turned out.
I printed the image on white card and coloured him with Promarkers.
I put some glitter on his wings, and added a button onto his strap.
I then mounted the white card onto red card, to draw attention to the red thread etc.
I took an 8" x 8" scalloped card and covered with some chevron striped paper, which was free from one of the many magazines I subscribe to.
The red card was then stuck onto the patterned paper.
I computer generated a sentiment
Mum you are so amazing!!
and then cut it out using a Spellbinder scalloped heart die.
I placed this on the corner of the card.
I threaded some Bakers Twine through a red button, tied it in a bow and stuck it to the corner of the card just above the sentiment.
Done!!!!!

Image from Mo Manning
Papers were free from a magazine
Heart sentiment cut from Spellbinder Heart Die
Button and Baker's Twine from stash

I would like to enter this  card in the following challenges.

Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes #196
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge  - Buttons and Bows - #270

I would also like to enter this in the Make it Crafty design-team-call

Goblin Queen

Good Afternoon everyone.  I've been trying to be productive,
to make a bundle of cards, as the pub which sells my cards need some more.
Pressure is on!!

I took some time out to colour this image from Simply Be and put her on a card.
She is called The Goblin Queen, and they had a challenge to colour her.  We had to decide if she was on the Light Side or The Dark Side.  It has been great looking at all the cards to see how different one image can be.

I think she is on the Light Side, what do you think?

I am entering this in the Crafting from the Heart Challenge
which is "Anything goes"

right I am off to get more cards done!  Bye for now!

Whisper a Wish to a Butterfly

Here is my Design Team Layout for Issue 88 of Scrapbook Magazine.  The theme was "Mum".

I am creating a family scrapbook so I was quite happy to scrap these photographs of my Mum.  I think my Mum was really beautiful when she was a young woman, and she bore a resemblance to our present Queen I think.

She worked as a nurse, and the 2nd photo was taken on the steps of Westgreen Hospital where she worked and also met my Dad.

Mum is no longer with me, and I seem to miss her more now, than I did when she first passed away.  There is a saying that if a Butterfly flies close to you, it is someone in heaven come for a wee visit.  When I saw this sentiment card I thought it was perfect, as I would love a Butterfly to take a message back to my Mum to let her know that I miss her and I wish she was here to see the Great Grandchildren which were born after she passed away.

I used a lot of flowers on this layout, as Mum loved flowers and always pottered away in her garden.

The papers, sentiment and cameo were from Bo Bunny
Flowers from Wild Orchid.
Butterflies are from Prima

I hope you like this layout, it is a very special one to me.
Take care and I would love to see you come back for a visit soon!
