About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Challenges

I have been busy making cards for challenges this week.  I wish I was clever enough to make a card and enter it into numerous challenges at once, but I can never manage that!!  So here we go.......
Challenge One - Simon Says Stamp - Use the sketch above by Dawny.......
................ and here is my card, using a Lilli of the Valley image.  I have had this sweet wee image coloured for a long time and have never got round to using it.  The papers (from Pink Petticoat) show some of my favourite colours. The buttons, bows and wee birdie were from my stash.

 Challenge Two
This card is (as you can probably guess) for Mo's Challenge, where the theme is Flowers.  This image is sooooooooooooooo cute! I love it!  I love my Teddies so I can totally relate to this1 LOL!!!!

Challenge Three
The third card is for The Cutie Pie Challenge Blog where the theme is Circles.  It shows another of my favourite colour combos, blue and brown.  The papers are from Nitwits and were free in a magazine.  The image is from Magnolia and I have placed her on the steps which are also from Magnolia.  I added some leaves and flowers and a beaded pin.  I used my cricut and my Spellbinders Beaded Circles to cut the circles.
Before  I go, I must share a couple of photos of my Grandsons firstly, we have Hadley, wearing his Mummy's lipstick!!!!

 gorgeous isn't he? LOL!!!!

and finally, wee Jackson.  Yes, we all feel like this sometimes don't we? LOL!!!
thanks for looking at my blog - take care.

Teddy Bo

The sketch at Let's Scrap this week, is for a card, and as I am making cards for a coffee morning stall in May, I thought "perfect" and another card was made.  This  is the sketch.................

...................and here is my card!  I love the Teddy Bo image, it is so cute and I really must get more of their stamps.  the flowers are by Wild Orchid and are sold in our shop and the paper is from a K & Co. Paper pad from the  McKenna range.  The ribbon was a bit left over from Catriona's Wedding Invitations at Christmas! (Waste not want not!! LOL)  A very simple card, but I really like it!

This is a very quick post tonight, but I will be back tomorrow with some more cards.  thanks for stopping for a look!

Hello from a very cold and wet Scotland!!  Talk about April showers?  They are alive and kicking and living right here!! LOL!!! My washing doesn't know what it is doing.  It is hung up to dry, then it is taken in again, then it goes out again and then it comes in again.  Gave up today and I am keeping it indoors!!
Here is this week's sketch from Let's Scrap.  I have picked photos of the boys and their Daddy in New Zealand.  They went to Mount Maunganui  in the Bay of Islands and visited the beach.  Corinne told me that the twins weren't very amused when their Daddy and Harrison went for a walk in the water and they got into a bit of a panic! Bless them! Oh how I wish I could be on that beach right now instead of suffering  all this rain!
It was Greg's 30th Birthday on Thursday 5th April and we went out for a family meal to The Bothy in Perth.  We had a lovely meal and a lovely time and wee Jackson took part in pass the parcel with him as the parcel! LOL!!! Everybody wanted a wee cuddle.

I had to share this photo of Marie with Jackson, as she moaned about having a Mummy Tummy and her hair was a mess and she had spots blah blah blah and then she walked in looking like this - stunning!!

This is the card I made for Greg.  It uses car images called Wacky Wheels from Just Inklined.

I made this a pop-up card and is the first one I have made like this.  I feel I could have done so much more with the card but because I am so tired at the moment I just couldn't get any ideas.

Marie, Willie, Jackson and I had a lovely afternoon in Alyth at my brother's house.  We met up with my niece Lesley and her husband Martin and their wee boy Olly and their baby Sophie who was born about 8 weeks before Jackson.  We wanted to get photos of the babies together, but it was so difficult to get them in a good mood at the same time!  Here are a couple which we managed to get.

I like this one, it shows me and Marie and Jackson, and my sister-in-law Mary with Lesley and Sophie.
They both look a bit dishevelled, but we didn't want to play around with them too much as they were both nice and quiet!
And finally................
My gorgeous wee boy in the suit which I knitted for him.  I could just eat him all up!
Well I must go and get some cards made.  We have been asked to have a stall in May at a Coffee Morning, so need to get busy! Thanks for stopping and having a lookie!!

What on earth?

What on earth is happening with the weather?  One day glorious sunshine and 21 degrees, the next snowing and temperature down to 3 degrees!!  Absolute madness!  We had a new conservatory built and I am so glad they appeared last week to do it and not this week, or snow would have stopped play!!  I am really pleased with the conservatory and it is such a big improvement on the last one which was falling to bits with rotten wood and cloudy windows!  Still need to get tiles for the floor, decorate and get furniture and blinds though, so not finished  yet.

I uploaded this card to Let's Scrap last week, and have not had a chance to get it onto my blog as I was busy making coffee for my 2 workmen!! LOL   I used the sketch below.

I used my favourite wee friend, Magnolia Tilda and coloured her with my promarkers.  This is one of the new images and I think she is so sweet cuddling her teddy. The flowers are from Orchid Crafts and the leaves were cut with my Cuttlebug and a Spellbinders die.  the border was cut using a Martha Stewart die and the centre doily is by Marianne Creatables.  Lastly, the paper was free from a magazine and the butterfly was from my stash.  It is actually a joy fold card, but it doesn't show up too well in the photo.  A joy fold means it is a card within a card so to speak!

I based this layout on a sketch on Scrap 365 magazine website.  I don't usually do layouts with empty space, but I really like the way this turned out.  The photo shows  Jackson's wee hand next to his Uncle Greg's thumb.  I thought it was so cute and will be interesting in years to come to compare the size of his hand again!  The papers I used were from Creative Imaginations, the title is K & Co., and the thread is from Bazzill.  The flowers and brad were from my stash.

Well, I must go and finish Greg's card for his birthday tomorrow.  I have a busy day, as I am visiting my Big Brother and his wife to meet up with my niece and her husband.  They had a wee baby girl a few weeks before Jackson was born and this is the first time we have been able to get together for a photo session.  Watch this space for proof of the visit!!  Thanks for having a wee look at my blog!

Hello everyone!  It is a lovely sunny day and everyone seems to have a smile on their faces, it makes such a difference doesn't it?  I have made the above card for the Cutie Pie challenge which is Think Pink with Rabbits!!  I have used a digital stamp from Sassy Cheryl and I think she is sooooooooooooooo cute!! It is the first Sassy Cheryl stamp I have bought, but I know I will be back for more real soon!!!   I had the chance to use my new Spellbinder die which I love! I used paper which was free from a magazine, but can't remember which one!!
This layout is based on a sketch from Scrapbook Magazine Issue 62.  I used Nitwits Papers which were free in Issue 61.  The calendar spinner by Maya Road  is set to February 28th which is the date Jackson was born. I took the photo when my daughter wasn't looking and it makes it a better photo because it is natural. I think she looks pretty remarkable considering she had given birth just a few hours previously!!  I cut the deep hearts border with my cuttlebug using a Martha Stewart die.  I cut pink card and had it stuck on and didn't like it, so I cut the same panel again in blue card and layered it up.  I love the effect which was a happy accident!!  Every day a school day!  Well, must go.  I have had workmen in all day building a new conservatory and need to go tidy up now!
Thanks for stopping for a lookie and please leave a comment if you visit!

Jackson's First layout!

Well, here it is, the very first layout showing Jackson, my wee Grandson.  These were the very first photos taken of him when he was just minutes old!  This is based on the sketch below from Let's Scrap.  I have only used the left of the page, as I couldn't think what to do with the right hand side!!

I'm off to get some knitting done now.  I am attempting to knit 2 Thomas The Tank Engine Cardigans for the twins, Hadley and Dylan.  Watch this space! LOL!!!
Thanks for having a look!

Cutie Pie Challenge

I have made this card (above) to enter into the Teddy Bo Challenge, but guess what?  I was too late!  where does the time go?  Anyway I am also entering the same card into the Cutie Pie Challenge which is Pearls & Swirls.  It is a bit different from the usual cards I make, and I am still not sure if I like it or not! LOL!!!  the image is from Teddy Bo and I used paper from My Mind's Eye. The pearls came from a $2 dollar shop in New Zealand.  Oh how I wish I had bought more of them when I saw them!

This is a card which I have made for my niece who has just had a wee baby girl, Sophie Marie.  I have not been to see her yet, but we have arranged a visit for the first week in April.  Lesley my niece is 5 months younger than Marie, and I tool lots of pictures of the 2 of them together when they were little, so I am looking forward to seeing their two babies together and taking more photos!!  Definitely will be one for the scrapbook!  The image is from Just Inklined and is coloured with promarkers.  The ribbons and flowers are just from my stash.  Well, I must go as I am feeling dreadful and don't know if I have caught a bad head cold, or if it is Hay Fever.  My nose is just streaming and I keep sneezing.  I was fine one minute, then sneezing and drippy the next!  No layouts made this week, but I have plenty photographs of Jackson to make a start on his album.  Watch this space1 LOL!!!!
