About Me

My photo
Perth, Perthshire, United Kingdom
Welcome to my little corner of the World! I live in Perthshire Scotland with my wonderful husband Eric. We have a daughter, Corinne who is married to Rob and lives in New Zealand, with their boys Harrison and twins Hadley and Dylan. Marie who has a wee boy Jackson, and Greg and his wife Kim, their wee girl Freya, even smaller baby boy Freddie and dog Buddy. I am happy when I am in my craft room, and I love making cards for Charity and also for commissions. I love scrapbooking, and I get my inspiration from my Grandchildren. They are the subjects in most of my Scrapbooking layouts. I have just started to do Mixed Media work, and I am loving it!! I have just started a craft group at our local Church centre, aptly called Saints and Scissors Club! If you can't find me, I will be in my craft room, buried under tons of stash lol!

Now for my exciting news!!!!!
I entered the competition for Scrapbooker of the Year at Scrapbook Magazine.  I was so excited when I got an e-mail to say that I was a runner-up!!! Woo-hoo!!!!!!

We had to send in 3 layouts and this was the layout which they picked.  This shows my two daughters when we all met up together for the first time in many, many years.  Corinne lives in New Zealand, we are at the opposite side of the world  in Scotland, so it makes family reunions a bit difficult!!

This is the amazing prize I won.  £180 worth of crafting goodies!!!!!!!  The photo does not really show it all  up very well, but I have scrapbook paper, rubber stamps, masks, flowers, twine, card-making kit, lettering, 2 albums, buttons and templates, to name just a few!!
I was not allowed to tell anyone until the magazine was published, so I am letting everyone know now!!!

I tried to scan the magazine and put int on there, but for some reason it wouldn't work. Never mind.  I am so chuffed with myself and keep smiling when I think about it!  Here's to more success in 2013!!!!

Cutie Pie Challenge Blog

I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas.  We had a lovely time with Marie and baby Jackson, (who stole the show) and Greg and Kim, who told us that they are having a baby in June! Woo-hoo!  another baby to scrap and to knit for! LOL!!!!  I have managed to find some time to do some blogging, so without further ado........

The challenge at The Cutie Pie Challenge Blog is Cute Christmas.
I have used an image from Make It Crafty which I love.  It's just a simple card, as most of my cards this year were, as I had no extra time to make them fancy!! This image reminds me of myself, as I always feel and squish my parcels in an attempt to figure out what they are before I open them!!

I wanted to share this photo of Jackson, playing with the toy we gave him for Christmas.
I think we had more fun with it than he did!!

I'll be putting on another post in a wee while with my exciting news!!  At last I can share it with you!

Mo's Digital Challenge - #166 Fave Mo card made by You!

The challenge over at Mo's Digital Challenge is your favourite Mo's card which you have made.
It is so hard to pick a favourite as I always find if I use an image by Mo, the card will turn out great!!  I have picked this card, as I did some stamping and used chalks to make a cloud effect.  it makes it just that little bit different I think!  I really like the way i have coloured the hair too, as hair colouring is not my strongest point!

I am also showing you this card, which I coloured monotone, with a splash of red.  First time I have tried this, and I really like it, so will be doing it again, that's for sure!

Okay, must go, almost bed time, and I have a busy day tomorrow.  Marie is getting wisdom teeth out and I have to be Nurse Nancy and look after her and wee Jackson, so I will have a busy day!

Bye for now, and thanks for stopping for a look!!

Inspiration of the Week at Let's Scrap

I have been very bad of late and have not been blogging as much as I should have been.  I had to share this with you today though, as my layout has been picked as Inspiration of the Week on Let's Scrap!!! Woo-Hoo!!

This layout was part of an album I have just completed for my friend Fiona.  She wanted it to give to Jayden's Mummy for her Christmas, and it shows Jaydens' first 5 years.

This is another layout I did based on another Let's Scrap sketch.   It shows Jayden setting off for his first day at school.  He looks so excited doesn't he?

I'll be back with another post really soon, as I have some exciting news to share with you all!!  Have fun everywhere and I hope the strain of Christmas isn't too much for you! LOL!!!

Off We Go!

This is the sketch at Let's Scrap and I have only used the right hand side on this occasion.
The photos show Hadley and Dylan on their first day at Kindy.  I don't know what they have in their backpacks, but they look like they are going for a week instead of a day!!

I have used
Papers from Pink Paislee - Vintage Moon
House, Cloud chipboard - Collage Press - Hometown Summer
Spinner and chipboard arrow - K & Co. - Urban Rhapsody
Lettering - American Crafts - Thickers

I have had such a busy week, as we are looking after our wee Grand dog, Buddy as Greg and Kim are away on holiday.  He is keeping us on our toes, and he is being spoilt rotten as usual!!  I've also been looking after wee Jackson, while his Mummy goes out to work for a couple of hours a night, and also when his Mummy and Daddy went to a wedding on Saturday night!  It has been a really quick week, but it has been lots of fun!!

I have to share these pictures of my little men - firstly, Harrison,  Hadley, Harrison and Dylan looking really handsome

and then Jackson, looking really cute!!!

I love my wee Grandsons, and who can blame me?
Take care till the next time!!

Just Inklined Cards

I have been busy card-making.  I have so many images which have been printed out, or stamped, and I have never got round to colouring them.  I have a plastic shoebox full of them!!  I have made it my mission, to get them coloured, and then to get them onto cards!!  The card above is a lovely birthday image I think, as cupcakes are really popular now instead of a big birthday cake.  I used Dovecraft Teahouse papers, and metal corners from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The ribbon is from my stash.  As usual, the image is coloured with Promarkers.

I am going to say a couple of swear words - MEN'S CARDS lol!!!
We all dislike making them don't we?  I think this image is fab, as, even if your man doesn't actually read, (like my hubby) he is bound to have some books of some description tucked away in a corner someplace!!
both these images are from The Next Big Think CD from JustInklined and it is packed with lots and lots of images of every kind imaginable!!  It can be bought here from  La Pashe where it is on special offer at the moment!

Let's Scrap Challenge

This is the layout I have made using the weekly sketch from Let's Scrap.  I must admit, I looked at this sketch and thought - "oh my, what can I do!!"  with a little thought and a rummage through my  massive photo collection, I selected the photos above which show Harrison going off to school for the first time.  Considering all the problems he had when he was born, it was an amazing day and made even better by the fact that he LOVES school!!  He gets all excited when he sees the bus coming for him in the morning!  He is doing really well, and at his first meeting with teachers, they were singing his praises which is such a relief to his Mummy and Daddy.

I used Cor'edinations Cardstock which I sanded over an embossing folder to make it a bit "messy" and the papers and stickers are from Echo Park, Hello Summer range. The ribbons are from Fancy Pants, About A Boy range.

Well, I am a busy Granny today, I have the "Granddog" Buddy at the moment, and he is staying with us for a week as Greg and Kim are off on holiday, and I am also looking after wee Jackson at teatime, to let his Mummy get out to work for a few hours.  No complaints at all though, I am LOVING it!!!!

Well, must go, time is precious at the moment! LOL!!!  thank you for stopping for a wee look and come back soon, won't you?

Kenny K's Crafty Crew, Wild Orchid, Cutie Pie Challenges

I haven't been blogging in such a long time!! I have been away on holiday and have been really busy since I got back.  I'm back on the ball again, and want to show you a card I have made using a Kenny K image.

I am entering it onto the blog challenge, which is "Anything goes"
I am also entering this card into Wild Orchid Crafts challenge which is "Summer Flowers
and finally The Cutie Pie Challenge  which is Frames and Borders.
I'm afraid that I don't know who made the papers, as they are from my stash which I am using up.  The pink frame is from Love Elsie, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment was free from a crafting magazine.
I'm going to make this a short post, so as I can go and get crafting again! Bye for now and thanks once again for stopping!!

The challenge at Mo's digital challenge blogspot. is "Anything Goes"

I have used the image called Big Girl Pants.  It is so cute!  She wants to wear bigger pants now, but she won't when she grows up!  Mo's images are just so true to life, and they make me smile every time I use one!
I have been using more papers, pink flowers and ribbon from my stash, and the blue flowers were from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Well, we are heading off for 3 nights to the Lake District, so hopefully the weather will hold and we won't get soaked!  There is flooding all over England at the moment, it is really terrible and my heart goes out to all those people whose businesses and homes have been ruined.  It must be heartbreaking.

I'll leave you with this picture of wee Jackson, which I took yesterday.  He has his first two teeth and this picture shows them off brilliantly.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping for a wee look!

Wednesday, 1 August 2012

Oh my goodness! It's 1st of August!  This year is just flying by!  The new Design Team have started at Let's Scrap - congratulations to all the new Design Team Members,  and this is the new sketch which they had to base their layouts on.  I was going to apply, and had the layout all made, then  the time went past for entering!! Oops!  Never mind, maybe the next time!

This shows Jackson in a happy smiley mood!  He is like that most of the time, even though he is getting teeth.  It must be so sore for the poor wee souls!! I used About a boy papers from My Mind's Eye and also the Titles and Tags from the same range.
I think I will go for a wee nap now, as I am really Lupie today. :o(   I'll be back soon with another post!

Mo's Digital Challenge and Guest Designer

This is the last week to apply for the Guest Designer Spot over at
so I am entering this card for the challenge, which is

In the Dog House.

I think this image is amazing, and I just love the expression of contentment on the wee boy's face!!  The dog looks quite happy too I am pleased to say!
I used papers from Little Yellow Bicycle - Baby Safari.
I used these papers a lot when I was making the layouts for the boys, as I love the colours and the quality of the paper.  I have hardly any left and I will be so disappointed when they are finished!  I'm sure I am not the only one who doesn't want to use their favourite papers!!!
Well, must go and get Dinner organised again, Sweet Chilli Chicken with Noodles Mmmmmmmm.  I wish I could say I was making it from scratch, but I am cheating tonight, it is a ready meal!  We have had it before though and it is yummy!!!  This diet had better be working, only one week into it and I am fed up counting calories and checks already!
enjoy the rest of your day and thanks for stopping!

Mo's Digital Challenge and Guest Designer call

Hello again, oh I am proud of myself with all these posts in the same week!!!!  This card is for the challenge over at Mo's Digital Challenge
the theme is "Hugs & Kisses", so I thought this image suited perfectly!  I love teddies, and obviously this wee chap loves his teddy too, so I feel an immediate  bond with him! LOL!!!
I made a Central Stepper card, and used papers form Echo Park - Hello Summer.   The stickers are from Totally Awesome.

You can see the shape of the card better from this angle.  It takes a bit of time to make, but I think it is worth it to make a card which is so different.

As well as the Challenge,  Mo is having a Guest Designer  Call, so I am going to throw my hat in the ring, and try out for it.  Mo is most definitely my favourite Digital Artist, so to be a part of her Design Team would be a dream come true.  I know I am not alone in thinking that though, and lots of other crafters will also be applying.  I can only hope that she likes what she sees!!
I'm off to make dinner now, Eric has been working late, so will be really hungry when he gets in!  I have started a diet, so wish me luck with that too!

Kim's Birthday Card

Okay, would someone please tell me where Sunday went?  I said I would post these cards on Sunday, but it flew by in  a haze!!  I was busy gardening, while the rain was off, so I have an excuse!
I made the card below for Kim for her birthday, but I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, so I made the one above as well.  I showed them to Eric and he picked the one below, so that's the one she got!  I coloured the wee dog to be the same as her dog, Buddy.  I've put his photo below so as you can see if there is a resemblance or not!!!  I didn't like my colouring too much, and felt it could have been better, even though I coloured in two images, I still was not happy.  Sometimes though, I think I may be just a bit too fussy and critical!  The images for both cards are from Mo Manning
and I paper pieced the girl's dress on the one above.  I did my clouds again - ( favourite thing to do right now!) and used some flowers and a ribbon to decorate.  Papers are from a freebie pad which came in a magazine.  I love the papers and the pad is almost finished unfortunately!!

I did some fancy folds on this card, and used Mirra card and my Mbossabilities  to get the paisley pattern.  The flowers are some I have had forever (more stash - yay!!) and I have had them so long I don't know where they came from! LOL!!!

I hope you think the doggie on the card  looks like Buddy!
Well I am off to make some more cards, and hopefully a layout as well!  Enjoy the rest of  your day!

Challenges

Hello from a sunny Perth - yes, that's right, it is sunny today! Woop Woop!!!  I am not getting too excited though, as the forecast is rain for the next few days :o(   this is the worst summer I can ever remember.
I have used another one of Mo Mannings images. I coloured her with Promarkers and used papers which I have had forever!!!   I love the way she is standing as if to say "whatever!"  I thought this sentiment just suited the image perfectly!

I am entering the card above into three challenges

and also

I have been busy making more cards, one of which is for Kim (my son's girlfriend) for her birthday.  I made a card for her, but I wasn't sure if I liked it enough, so made another as well!  I eventually gave her the first one, but I am still not too happy with the colouring of the dog on it. She won't see it until tomorrow, so I'll be back tomorrow with a post to let you see them!
Take care everyone and enjoy your weekend. (and I hope the sun keeps shining for you!)

Let's Scrap 7-11-12

As soon as I saw this sketch from Let's Scrap I knew which photos I would use!  Marie was trying to get photos of Jackson, and he was playing hard to get and looked everywhere except at the camera.  He did eventually look and smile as if to say, "ha ha! Mummy, I made you work there!!!!"
He has the most expressive face, and his eyebrows tell a story on their own! He is so funny!
I used papers from My Mind's Eye - Complete Boy which is a massive pad with 180 sheets of paper, so I won't be stuck for papers for a while!!  I used punches to make decorative borders, and the chipboard turn is from K & Co.

This is the sketch, but I only used the right hand side.  I think I may make another layout based on the left hand side too!
I must go and work on a card for Kim for her birthday.  I coloured in an image last night, but I am not happy with it, so will have to do it again today.  You know what they say practise makes perfect!

OOOH I forgot to say ----------it's not raining today! Yippee!  It's clouding over though, so it may not last long!  we had better weather during the winter, this can't possibly be summer! LOL!!!

Monday, 25 June 2012

The challenge this week at Mo's Digital Challenge Blogspot is "Masculine".  I know that crafters groan when they have to make a masculine card, but I am quite used to them now, as I have 4 Grandsons and make their cards, and scrapbook albums all the time.  The image above from Mo is called Taking a Break and shows a boy and his dog having a rest from playing ball.
I coloured the image using Promarkers
I used papers from DCWV - All About Boys
Eyelets were from my stash
Baker's twine was free from a craft magazine
This card should have been entered into Mo's challenge last week, when the theme was "At the Park"  I missed the deadline by 1 day,  but thought I would share it this week too!  This wee image is just so cute!  I love her wee ladybird backpack!  I am loving making clouds on cards at the moment, I just cant help myself! LOL!!!
Well, must go and get some work done.  I am being very lazy today and would be quite happy to sit here bloghopping!
Take care all and thanks for stopping!

Wednesday, 20 June 2012

This is the sketch for Let's Scrap.  I have decided to try to get Marie's scrapbook finished.  Poor thing, she has been waiting forever!!
These photos were taken when Marie and Willie stopped off in Singapore on the way home from New Zealand.  They did a tour of the islands and stopped off at Kusu Island.  I used one of their tickets, and a map and information from the brochure they picked up.  Marie was given the red and gold envelope by a man in a shop.  It was at the time of the Chinese New Year, and they give red envelopes with money as presents at this time.  I used some of the money they had left to tuck in the envelope.  I bought the fans in either Japan or China (can't remember which! LOL!!!) and felt they just finished off the right hand side.

I used papers from Webster's Pages - Your Life and
Prima - Paradise City
Lettering - Basic Grey

Kenny K

Hello from a cloudy and cold St. Madoes.
There was a design Team Call over at Kenny K Krafty Girlz Challenges so I made some of my cards featuring Kenny K digital images. I was a day too late to get them in to be considered, but no matter!!!  The card above is the one I made for my husband for his birthday.  I found I had this paper which looks like the material bandannas are made from, so I thought it went with the cowgirl image.

This image is one of my favourites.  I just love the expression on this wee guy's face.  He is so happy with his goldfish!  I can remember being equally excited when I won one many many moons ago!!!  My Mum took over looking after Fred as he was called, and he lived for about 12 years!!  He kept growing and we had to keep getting him a bigger tank!  I am entering this card into the challenge this week which is Animal Antics.  I am hoping that a goldfish counts, as it is a fish and not really an animal, but hopefully it will not be too strict!
I like Kenny K images as I think they are perfect for cards for teenagers, as in the card below.  The way they are dressed and the events they are portraying are just brilliant.  I managed to use up some more paper from my stash on all these cards. It will take me years to use it all up though, I have a real thing for paper and have reams and reams of it!
Well, I had better go and make tea for Eric, he is watching the footie at the moment.  So much for the Football season finishing?  It is never off the bloomin TV is it?
Bye for now and thanks for stopping by!

Saturday, 9 June 2012

I've made some cards using my favourite designs from Mo Manning  The Card above is one I made for Marie for her  Birthday.  I just love the wee fairies which Mo designs, and this one in particular.  Look at her wee pot belly!  It's soooooooo sweet!!  I have decided to enter this into Mo's challenge which is
Anything Goes

This image (above) is brilliant!!! What a perfect little picture of a wee girl who adores her Daddy!   I sold this card and it was a lady in her 40's who bought it, as she said that she will always be her Daddy's little girl!  AAAWWWW!!
Finally, this wee cowboy on his bike!  I love the feeling of speed which Mo has achieved with this image.  You know that this wee man is simply tearing along on his tricycle!!
I had a wee cowboy hat charm left over from a scrapbook layout and it was just perfect for this card.
I'm off to plant up some pots for the garden.  It is still in a mess, as the rain has been dreadful, and we haven't got the new patio laid yet.  I'm going to fill the pots, but I don't know where I am going to put them!!
I'll get as much done as I can before the rain comes on again! LOL!!!

I hope your weekend is good wherever you are!  Remember, I like to read your comments, so please leave one if you have stopped for a visit!

Challenges Card

I have lots of images which are coloured, but I haven't got round to making into cards.  I've decided to use some of them up, and here is the first one.  This is a Lili of the Valley little girl stamp, called 'Daisy Chain' in front of a Magnolia background.  I have made a lacy frame using a Martha Stewart Punch around the page stamp.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid, and the leaves were punched out using my Cuttlebug.  The wee girl is mounted onto foam pads to give a bit of definition to the card and balance the flowers opposite.

I am entering this card into the following  challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Challenge ----Anything Goes

Last 2 challenge entries.

Hello everyone from a rainy St Madoes!!  Yes, you've guessed, the sun didn't stay very long :o(  I have gone from shorts, strappy t-shirt and flip-flops, to long trousers, hoodie, socks and slippers!! LOL!!!  It is meant to get better at the weekend so fingers crossed.

This is the last day of the month long challenge at Let's Scrap    I didn't manage to do as many challenges as I wanted, as I have been so busy, but managed to get these two completed.
This first one is a challenge set by Elizna Parsons DT and it was to use a Bingo card and a banner on your layout.  We had to use a let's scrap sketch of our own choice, so I picked the one above and used the left side.
The layout shows Marie and Corinne and was taken when we were all over in New Zealand (Jan 2010).  I noticed on the Bingo Card that the numbers 28 and 33 were there, and I circled them (like on a bingo card) as that is the ages on the girls' birthdays that year.  I used the papers which I won after being picked as the weekly winner on Let's Scrap a few weeks ago. (Very exciting indeed!)  The papers were from My Little Shoebox,  a brand which I have never used before.  The flowers were on a die-cut sheet and you coiled them round to make each flower.  I really like the way this turned out, and I love the colours on the whole layout.
This layout was based on the sketch below, where you had to  use Hexagons.  Now, as everyone knows, a hexagon has 6 sides.  So would someone care to tell me why, when cutting out my shapes, I made Octagons which have 8 sides???????  Silly Woman!!  I had to start again, and didn't want to waste the shapes I had cut out, so transformed them from 8 sides to 6 sides. This meant they are a bit strange, but they are hexagons nonetheless!! (honestly!)
The layout shows Willie, Marie's boyfriend just a wee while after Jackson was born.  I love the photos on the left, as he is looking at Jackson as if to say "Are you real?"
The papers I used were from DCWV Nana's Nursery.  I have had the papers for a while and I wondered how on earth I could use purple papers when all my Grandchildren are boys, but when I saw the colour of the chair and Willie's t-shirt, I knew I could use them!!
That's all for now, I must go and do some housework.  I have a man coming to fix my washing machine this afternoon - Joy upon joy!  More money! LOL!!!  I will then have to wash the pile of clothes which have built up since it broke down.  I have often wondered if Eric and I are very dirty, or very clean, as I always seem to have heaps of washing and there are only 2 of us?
Bye for now and thanks for stopping to take a look!
